Basically it was the spoke protector on the rear wheel behind the freewheel. I’ve only heard it referred to as a “Pie Plate” on other forums because it is visibly different to the traditional spoke guard found on most bicycles. It is smaller, shows no holes, and is made of a much less quality type of material.

Ya want to sell, i would be interested. I have a 62 Schwinn Skipper,58 Monark Super Deluxe made in Chicago, 88 Schwinn 5 cruiser, 63 Schwinn Typhoon, 90 Schwinn beach cruiser i made electric. Old Columbia, Raleigh,European, True Value beach cruiser thats really Huffy beach cruiser, 24" 58 Schwinn cruiser and more. No corvettes in my set. Nice bike. Thank you for sharing!👍😁

My first new bike was one of these. Bought it for around $80.00. Green in color. Never knew how rare it was. Did wheelies with it. Gave it to my brothers when I got a car. Frame broke shortly thereafter.
