Continuing to work on the 1963 C10 short wide bed truck, I dive into the drivers door, sanding and finding surprised that hide underneath the old paint and primer. These trucks have been around for close to 60 years at this point and have gone through a lot of hands. Some hand are more capable than others and you never know what you'll find. In this case, I was able to find the original threaded holes for the factory mirrors. My goal was to put the original mirrors back on and now that becomes way easier as I don't have to figure out where they would have mounted. Having the threads makes it really nice to bolt them back on. It's also good to see there isn't as many rust holes as I was expecting to find, just one small area to replace.
