Watched this again today as his 1963 Auckland Cup victory was tonight 59 years ago ,beat the mighty Tactile,Cardy started 78 yards behind ,incredible

No really. Robin Dundee was a champ but the rest, not so much. But Cardy the best we have ever seen.

Never saw that 1963 win but I do have Ron Bisman's book which is a very interesting read. I have also uploaded a couple of clips on Cardy about his retirement and one of his great US wins. Cheers, Ian.

1963 won all four major races at Cup meeting ,then won Auckland Trotting Cup from 78 behind, I was there as he cruised past the line Tactile tried hard
