I was there. My first year at RA was 1958. They even had a NASCAR race back then . Almost every car went of course on every sharp corner. There were no extra room on corner exits. If you got off the tarmac you were in dirt.. Great fun.

Corvettes, Ferraris, and Porches aside, the other beauties like the Sadlers, Scarabs, Coopers, Elvas, Listers, and Chaparrals stand as testament to the workmanship of yesteryear, when cubic inches were key.

You can still see all the Chaparals on display at the Petroleum museum in Midland Texas.
