I was fascinated the first time I saw a car from Canada that was half Plymouth and half Dodge from the 1950's. Now this one has a Plymouth dashboard. I love that. Love the detail that you always perfect. You are really good with the detail on the cars you feature and that's why so many people follow you. One thing that really stands out to me is the Dodge logo on each side of the hood. For some reason, that really stood out fo rme. Beautiful, beautiful car. We will never have cars like this again!

Those early 60s Mopar were so different looking from other cars that a 10 year old me that LOVED cars always thought they were ugly. About 8 years later (after seeing so many Mopar rear ends at the drag strips from the seat of my Camaro), I learned how beautiful they were and still are!

That's a great looking car. My 1964 Dodge Polara 500 also came with a 426 street wedge/4 speed, but in white with a red interior. By the time I bought it in 1974 it had been given a 426 Max Wedge transplant. My dad and I went through the car to prep it for NHRA stock class racing, I've had some great times racing it over the past five decades. Still racing it today.

If any of the viewers wonder why there is a blank metal piece to the left of the gauges ( 6:32 ), it's because that is where the push-button automatic transmission buttons (and park lever) would be. They mimic the heater controls on the right side of the gauges. My family had a '63 Dodge that had the same controls, and they worked great during the 13 years we had the car.

I never realized that Chrysler Canada LTD. called their parts division CRYCO, and Mopar was only in the United States. I always thought Chrysler was all Mopar. That Polara 500 is a sharp looking car. That's the car I picture "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena" keeping in her "Rickety old Garage". This is one sweet ride! I can't wait until Spring, when you can be back outdoors again to go for rides in these classics! Good find Lou!

Canadian Dodges Plymouths and Valiants all had their own "mixed up" variation of parts pre the 1965 Auto Pact between the USA and Canada. This allowed Canadian Mopars to be exported to other Commonwealth countries that had higher tariffs for USA vehicles. Once the Auto Pact came into play Companies choose which side of the border particular models were made in and could be sold on either side without tariffs. Today all Challengers are built in Brampton Ontario for both countries. 1966 and 1967 still had a few models that differed between Canada and USA but they were all the same 1968 onwards. The 1964 Mopar 2 door hard tops were in my opinion the best looking roof line of ANY manufacturer. The crease in the roof, the C pillar that comes down to a point at the body and the wrap around glass is gorgeous. The 1965 and 1966 American Dodge Darts were Valiants in Canada. And Valiant was its own Make until 1967.
