Shane has owned this 1964 ford falcon Sprint 2 door hardtop since 1997 when he was 15 years old. He bought this car for $500 and made payments "$100 at a time". The car was a shell when he got it and over the years he has turned it into a running, and driving classic car with a Ford 302 V8 and a 5-spd manual transmission out of a Mustang 5.0.

I have a ton more respect for a car built with blood, sweat and tears than a car built with cubic $$. Sweet ride!

I wish Ford would make a modern day retro version of the 64 Falcon. Car design's of today really need that nostalgia touch.

@Real Dudes Party Nude wow. Show your sorry true ignorance. Of course KZbin is free to comment whatever you want. With that said, your comment is sorry as hell. He did the car the way he wanted and could do. But there will always be smart ass haters like you, just to cut someone or something down. All because YOU don't like it. Its sad and pathetic. But not going to argue with you because believe mark twain said it best "its best not argue with a FOOL, on lookers may not be able to tell the difference." But your name says a lot, especially 'bout your character. Well that and your comment. Dude works hard to build a car he loves, and you comment what you did. Really? World will always be full of people like you.😂

I had one of these. She was my very 1st car. A '64 Falcon Sprint convertible. I was red w/ red interior, bench seat, factory 4-speed, 260 v8. Thought it was a 289 hi-po, but when i went to rebuild the engine, I found out it was a 260 w/289 hi-po heads and a 500 cfm holly 2-bbl carb. It had a white convertible top. The car was only 4 yrs old when I bought it used for 1200.00. It had blk painted wheels, chrome trim rings, and baby moon hubcaps. I reall LOVED that car! She was my pride and joy!! Seeing your car brings back all kinds of good memories. You have really done a GREAT job of bringing her back from the dead. I sincerely hope you have as many great times with her as I had w/mine!!

the feel of driving a vehicle that you brought to life with your own two hands, when you have touched and turned every bolt; wrestled with the very heart and soul of the thing. To know a car so intimately, that it becomes more than just a machine, but a living thing with whom you have a serious relationship. Yes I can see that you understand.

Shane, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful Ford Falcon with us all! Don't worry about the money you've put into it! You may or may not be able to recoup those funds when and if you ever sell it, but your own personal enjoyment, pride of ownership, comfort, safety, and joy are ALWAYS good investments! Enjoy it and make no apologies to anyone! I was born in the Bronx, NYC, in January 1964. In June of 1964 my late Dad bought my late Mom a brand new 1964 Ford Falcon Futura sedan from Laurie Ford in Morris Plains, NJ. It was "Springtime Yellow" (to this day I still LOVE yellow cars!), with a Silver/Gray interior. It was smooth riding, nimble (170 C.I. inline 6 cyl engine), easy to drive and to park, and just the right size for my Mom, who was a very "petite" lady, 5' tall and maybe 100 lbs). She loved that Falcon! It was still in daily reliable service to our family when it was traded in (1977) for...wait for it...a bright Orange AMC Gremlin! When Dad would reflect on the life changing events of 1964, years later, he would mention the birth of a son, (me) in January, and would always talk about the much beloved Falcon...he mostly talked about the Falcon if the truth be told! :)

I'm soon to get my Dad's 65 Falcon Futura. Hardtop, maroon in color. All original, I think it has a 170 engine. But it's been sitting over 25 years in his garage. Like you, it's more sentimental...great memories I had as a child growing up with it. I have my garage all cleaned out, just waiting for that day. I just hope it's not so rusted. From what I can see, it's still in good shape. I hope to post some video of it someday. Thanks for the great video!

When i was a kid growing up neighbor had 641/2ford falcon sprint i watched it being restored and perfectly built to a extreme standard! I'm a Rhode Islander, and he had completed it with the license plate (COBRA), I can still picture it in my mind ripping four gears of posi. Oh I didn't mention convertible, metallic green on black interior, built 289 with 400 plus h.p. 4 11's with proper reinforced suspension to keep that amazing power to the ground!

I had a '65 Falcon, plain jane. 144, manual, 2dr sedan. Maroon with metallic flakes. Options? Radio and heater. Bought used in '71 when I got out of the Navy. No road rocket, but got me there and back. Slow and easy and it would go anywhere. I swear, I think it was part Jeep at times. Developed electrical problems after six years no one could track down. Like selling a child when I had to let it go and kick myself often for doing so but cash was tight and all.

Keep up the good work. I still have my original High School car that I bought in 1981. A '65 Mustang Fastback, which I gave a complete disassembly/rebuild when I bought it. It is now due for a complete restomod by a professional, now that I can afford it. I also recently purchased a California '63 Falcon convertible, which will eventually get a "restomod". Additional note: my brother still has his original, unrestored, '65 Shelby GT350, numbers matching car that he purchased in 1974......sheeesh!

(still have her. Betty.) see pic. now, she has aluminum heads, 440, 850 dbl, sealed ram air, purple cam, 3" exhaust to flowmasters cut before axle, 3:91, mickey T's on 18x10 - 18x12, LED tail lights.

1:00 my mother gave me a 4 door 65 falcon futura station wagon, gold painted interior and gold painted engine and transmision, when i was 8 to 10 years old. I got my 2 door post at 17 i got it on payments but i ised the payments i was saving for a 72 ranchero gt. I wanted them both. I miss them all. Im only 37. I wanted to be buried in my falcon wagon but my brother borrowed money on it acting as the owner and i lost it because it was gone from storage before i even knew it was even borrowed against much less past due for 350 dollars. A $20,000 dollar car, at the time, that would never have been for sale just lost over a thieving brother.
