It's nice to see and hear the V-8s of the 60's / 70's. I've owned 6 in that vintage, but 5 were Chevys, and only 1 was a Ford ('66 Galaxie). The Swedish and Norwegian 'Formula Off road' hill climbs are wild

@@impalaSS65 I suppose you could get some sort of rankings with a big v8 back in the 60s because the sheer amount of power it produced, but comparing now when you can get a lot of power from small engines they have become obselete and people are using smaller nimbler cars.

US Ford invested a good bit of $$$ to run Falcons at the Monte Carlo and some other European rallies during the 63 and 64 model years. The 65 models were constructed but the factory backed out. The Mercury Comet ran in the African and Canadian rallies. Back then the FoMoCo engineers were paid to have fun and call it "work" until Ford's US corporate leadership changed hands and the engineers had to put their toys away.

For all the fun my BIG fords gave me, I still think my SAAB 96/95 and my "sleeper Volvo 240 wagon" were the most fun cars. The 240 was set up with gas shocks, variable rate springs, HEAVY sway bars. That 240 could out handle most cars around AND it was a station wagon too, that was a really fun car to drive fast. Thanks for this collection of Fords

I still remember the thrill of the back end breaking loose, I was hooked! soon mastered power slides, bootleg turns I saved up and bought that car from my dad, first thing i did was put glass packs on it! Burned thru brakes, clutches and learned how to replace them then wrapped that big fishbowl back window around a pine tree. Moved up to a 68 Charger with a 440 in it wasn't near as fun as General lee on TV the thing handled for shit and couldn't stop but man straight line burnnouts wohaa! The Falcon was widely produced in the US during the '60s, when the '70s came, THEN it became mainly australian. And the Galaxie? That's purely american from top to bottom. The falcons you see here? Those are american falcons.

Falcon Sprint. They were fun! I bought one used in 1968. 289 cu. in., 4 speed, 9" rear end, 4:11 positrack, headers. I installed the 271hp cam and solid lifters, Mallory dual point distributor(state of the art, then!). Drove the heck out of it for 2 years, drag racing, long road trips ( those 4:11s were tough on the highway, before the days of overdrive!). Only repairs was 1 clutch and 1 u-joint.
