Thanks Omar, I'm replacing the front end components this week on my 64. Thanks for the video showing the options for a Galaxie.

Great Work Omar, your video's are a remarkable source of information. I did notice you ultimately decided on Coil-Overs, could you please provide any and all information and specific model/part number for the Coil-Overs you used. I am assuming you used stock height (no Drop) set-up. Thanks again, J

I am giving serious thought to buy this came set up for my 64 galaxie.

It’s pricey but worth it, I would do the coil over as well
@Courageous_Lion2 жыл бұрын
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie Why would you do the coil over in the front? I can see doing it in the back, but not in the front. Unless you want the ride of a dump truck.

Is the geometry of the lower arms changed to deal with the removal of the offset shaft, or does it just move them up a few degrees and not worry about it?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie4 жыл бұрын
I believe the straight shaft bolt moves the upper control arms a bit higher. I just completed all the suspension on it with a 1 inch sway bar and everything still lined up perfect!
@Courageous_Lion2 жыл бұрын
The geometry with the offset shafts are so out of whack with reality, it isn't funny. By putting in straight shafts and aligning the car you're fine. The car will be 3/8" lower from the factory height when the offset shafts were installed and adjusted from the factory. The only clearance issues you will have is if you use a bigger than 1" sway bar. I used Born Again Classics offset shaft replacement kit which was someone expensive, but when I added on the Performance Suspension Technology kit it was still $800 less than the total that the Fat Man set with out the parts that came with the PST kit. When all added up the Fat Man set is A LOT more expensive and the only difference in reality is looks. The Ford set up works just fine AND you can use stock parts and not have to buy Fatman parts if you wear something out.

How did you like these once you got them on? Was the installation difficult or any modifications or supporting parts required?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie Жыл бұрын
There were a couple of issues, one of them being the nut was too big. Fatman fab sent me some half nuts so they can be tightened down. I have a video of them being installed. But haven’t actually tested them out, very soon though!

@@OmarRamirezGalaxie thanks I'll have to try to find the install video.

It’s the one with the coil over and disc brakes. I should’ve done a separate install video haha

Meant to ask you the other day, did they say what the advantages are to running these tubular arms? Also have you thought about running Fatmans 2" drop spindles?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie4 жыл бұрын
I believe it allows more caster, but basically it’s better geometry for radial tires. I have coilovers which allows the 2 inch drop. The original spindles were in good condition plus the wilwood disc brake kit uses original spindles. Fatman products are pretty good though, their customer service is excellent

whats the cost on those if you dont mind sharing that info
@Courageous_Lion2 жыл бұрын
$1400 PLUS you still need to buy another $200 in parts on top of that: tie rod ends, inner tie rods, idler arm, idler arm bushings, and sway bar ends! So about $1600 total vs $800 total using factory upper and lower control arms.
@boudrouxatnightg21444 жыл бұрын
never mind i commented before the reveal price later on in the video
@Courageous_Lion2 жыл бұрын
Wow, no tie rod ends, no inner tie rods, no idler arm, no idler arm bushings, no sway bar end pieces and the total was $1400+? That was TWO years ago! What is the cost now I wonder. What did those other important parts cost added on to the $1400? About another $200? I figure if you bought the Born Again Classics offset shaft replacement kit which is machined out of solid steel and the spacer is machined as part of it for about $400 and bought the super deluxe kit from Performance Suspension Technology your cost would have been about $800 less for both items and the PST kit came with a bunch of parts your Fatman set up didn't. And of course you would have to use your original upper and lower control arms which are JUST FINE! Unless yours are damaged for some reason they are nice and heavy duty and work fine with the factory parts. I redid mine with the BAC parts and the PST parts. I had looked at Fat Man and figured I was paying for a lot for looks that no one would see. Plus it cost me $800 less. Those "look nice" but who can see them? Who is going to look under your car? And one of the things I found out from calling them was that if you ever need bushings again you have to use THEIRS! So nice looking set up but my stock set up works just like the factory wanted and I have straight shafts too in the process for a lot less (EIGHT HUNDRED) in cost. I can use that $800 for seat covers and a few other items.
