Hey, the 65s with Bigsbys were actually 64s w the upfitting. Also Canadian cases were the 1st with the gray and blue. My friend sold Clapton his 64 ES 335 at "Selmers Music" in the UK. Very exciting story he told me....
@chrisbasile8 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing. A humble opinion: All of the guitar demos would be far more useful if you demonstrated the instrument with no distortion or reverb (at least for part of the demo). And why not use an amp of a quality suited to the fine electric guitar used? And of course you need a proper mic in a fixed position in front of the amp - run it into a good recorder and sync it in post.

I have been the lucky owner of a 1962 335TDC since 1966. Out of all my guitars this is my favourite. Its also the loudest guitar I have ever played. The neck action is to quote a bass player friend of mine "like playing elastic bands". If you want a great guitar then go find yourself an old 335.

Hi Mark, Great videos. I love the explanations on the descriptions of the guitars. Been checking I cannot find anything on the difference /comparison between 335 & Lucille - any chance of your lucid explanations?
@jenniferwhitewolf37845 жыл бұрын
STEVEN HORNSHAW I played Lucille II in 1969 briefly in a concert break. Master volume !! Tiny low frets, about .035 tall, light strings, .008 to 034. Very low action. Not at all your stock ES. His Lucille was set up virtually identical to my custom Guild Starfire V, Bigsby delete. My master vol is in a different place, but our frets, neck profile, strings, and action settings were virtually identical. Stock ES has no master volume, taller frets, heavier strings, higher action.

If I did not have my '66 Starfire, it WOULD be one of these same era ES. Yo be fair, I got to play BB King's Gibson ES during a break in a 1969 concert. His ES was every bit the equal of my Guild. Wonderful and magnificent guitars..
