Nice car. The original buyer was the stereotypical practical Rambler guy. He chose the Classic (Not Ambassador), 660 (not 770), 6-cyl 3-spd. Nice upholstery, a little trim. Enough for the family. In the 50s my dad bought Chevys, always the 210. Nicer than the stripped 105, but not as expensive and flashy as the BelAir.

The dual carb setup is aftermarket. There was also a 287 cu in V8 available in this car, but the long-stroke 195.6 inline six did a fine job of pulling around these lighweight unibody mid-size cars. This is the year that the Chevrolet Chevelle came out, decimating sales of the Rambler Classic. I consider the 1963/1964 Rambler Classic superior to the 1964 Chevelle in many ways -- curved side glass, dual circuit brakes, a more energy efficient 3 speed automatic transmission, and lighweight unibody construction.

660 is the trim level, Ambassadors are 990 and 880, Classics are 770, 660 and 550, Americans are 440, 330 and I believe 220, I'm not sure about that last one
