1965 C10 pickup Longbed to Shortbed

This's my C10 longbed to short bed after spending hours of looking information how to do the job and working 3 months but I finished it.

The work looks amazing. I was told by a master welder that whenever a frame is cut and repaired. The welded areas should be reinforced with additional metal . That is a nice truck.

i have a 1964...all i did was cut out 10" from behind the rear tire ...cut the rear of the frame 10" and butt the rear piece together and weld~now you have a shorter bed with a long wheel base which i think is much better ~did that twenty years ago and still going strong today

Nice job. Hard work. The best cut on the frame is a stretched 'S'. Cut down half way through, then over 12" then down through the other half. Done a second time the next 12" over to remove the unwanted metal. After welding, the frame needs to be boxed the full length behind the weld. The weld is more brittle and wont flex with the frame.
