I love it. I wished I had one of these completely restored with a 440 engine, I would drive it everyday. Thanks for the video, good luck

That one is in amazing shape. My grandma had a Fargo (not sure what year but looked identical other than being grey) for hauling water when i was a kid and this truck brought back alot of those memories

I sometimes wonder if most near all were wimbledon blue.... I never liked many of the dodges as they to me were a edsel of pickups. My dad had one and he hauled tatters on it there in washington back in the seventies. It had the leaning tower of power in it and dad was doing all he could to keep himself alive. I was a youngen myself in my mid to late twenties. I seen it overheating and told dad to leave it with me and let me take you home as my truck doesn't need another whiskey dent in it. Okay fine as its hot an he was thirsty. Drop him off with his rig on my hook and seen the guys in my shop dinking around wanting something fun to do an so we got to having a beer or two, laughing about his leaning tower of power. I had a wrecked power wagon outback of the shop. We couldn't help ourselves... pulled the cabs off of each rig and then put fire to it and my old one roared to life. I had twin straight pipes out the back and dads truck for all sake of purposes looked good. Springs were not as tired for one and the tower of power was hiding out back. Mine was a 383 and four speed, dads had a automatic an when he saw that clutch pedal, he was so happy.. told him he needed more gears as its just too slow to get out of its own way. He hits the switch and I told him all that gas in his muffler blew it right the hell off. He had drove log trucks until his seventies an now retired. He pokes it in second gear, gives it some fuel and drives out of my cement floor shop sideways. He had put his left foot on the brake and right foot he was feathering thinking the pedal was stuck. We hollored to shut it off which he did an went to fix that broken spring... still no clue. I got to it first an popped the hood open and his eyes were as big as saucers. He asked what and how I made this rig look like his so close and we told him its because it is. Your cabin and kids undercarriage! I told him we put the smallest carb I could find on it and its new so it should make some mileage. He was smiling so hard. Not mad at all. He goes straight to a muffler shop and put some quieter mufflers on and they hooked him up with some air shocks. I seen it the next weekend an he had fifty pound bags of tatters clear up above the cab and selling tatters as fast as he could take the money over in forks washington. His drinking got his licence pulled and they gave him a permit to haul his potatoes from mt vernon to forks for his wages. He would make two trips a week and that went for a while till he messed up again and they took that truck from him. As luck followed him further, he was legal blind in a year and two more was dead from alcohol. eighty one and a day old.

thats a early 4 headlite swepty, mid year 65 dodge made changes to the swepty and went with the 2 big round headlites, long tail lights, handle to open tailgate instead of chains. So you could own 2 1965s that looked different fyi

Yes you are correct, we have both an early and a late one now. My dad likes the early ones more.

I love these old Dodge pickups. Had one back in the 80's that was a wood hauler for our wood stove. Seems like I remember it having a white bullet shaped panel on the door inset on the red body. Is that a particular year or model, or is my memory faulty?

Did all Sweptlines go to Washington State to retire?
