I still always come back to this video from time to time. Perfect demo of the sound of a 335, and absolutely beautiful playing style by C.J..

Great clear demonstration CJ!!! I can hear the guitar and for me I don’t need distortion on these demos. Thank you thank you! A stunningly beautiful piece. If I didn’t already own one I’d move and shake things to get this unique piece.

Thanks for bringing in CJ his playing and tone is a much welcome and refreshing delight! The difference in comparison to a stop bar tailpiece on a maple center block 335 is that the trapeze tailpiece will provide more subtle mids and highs and CJ demonstrates that tonal pallet beautifully.

Updated: Hate to be that guy...but this guitar is most likely a 1968 or a very late '67 and not a '65. The guard is from a '68 ES-335 ("boob" logo remnants still visible; a feature only found in '68). Also, the crown inlay in every single '65 I've ever seen is placed up higher on the headstock than this guitar. They moved the crown lower on the headstock later in the 60's which matches what you see on this isntrument. Also, there are some serial# discrepancies around '67-'68 where guitars that have a serial# that matches up with a '65 are actually from '67-'68. Given that this has the '68 pickguard and the '68 crown inlay positioning it's pretty safe to assume this guitar is not a '65 and is actually a '68. You should probably update the info on the video and your listings.

Not a big thing at that price point ;-)

Totally agree. Pretty sneaky to advertise it as a 65. Crown inlay is all I needed to see

Sounds incredible. Nice playing. Nice warm tone. I’m not an expert on 335’s . Does anybody know how much a guitar like this would cost? I’ve got a Buddy that loves these

This exact guitar is listed for nearly $15k USD. A brand new Gibson is around $4k to start and more for custom. You can get a new Epiphone version that’s very nice for less than $600.
