Thanks Rodney. The proliferation of CNC's sure has widened the market for a lot of these types of components and brought the price down too.

@@FoothillPaintandFabrication I got lucky on the water pump pulley. I found a reverse rotation Ford pulley about the right diameter that I put the 8 grooves in. Then I made a spacer with the different centers on it and countersunk the bolts for blower belt clearance. Plan "B" was a 7" x 5" round piece of 6061.

I have this system. Pro tip, verify the length of the 4 spacers against your water pump. My long spacer was about .040" too long which put my main plate into a slight twist and made the belt impossible to install. I shortened it in a lathe and all was good.
@FoothillPaintandFabrication11 ай бұрын
Had the same issue which caused the belt to rub near the tensioner. Unfortunately didn't figure that out till after the video was published. Tech support knew exactly what the fix was. They should put a note in the instructions.

Do you think I would run into any clearance issues if I used a higher amp alternator?
@FoothillPaintandFabrication Жыл бұрын
I don't think so unless you are going to a monster amperage unit. What are you thinking of running where you would need so many amps? These cars even with AC and a big stereo amp don't draw that much. CFV offers a 140 amp standard and a 300 amp alternator for an extra $550 which obviously fits their system so you should be good. Mark
@84SS931 Жыл бұрын
Ok I didn’t know they offered a higher amp. My spal fans run about 50 amps plus I have a accessory 100 amp fuse box so the 300 amp one should work fine thanks. Happy Thanksgiving new subscriber

Wow 50 amps? Is that continuous or just when they start up? Thank you for subscribing and Happy Thanksgiving to you. Mark @@84SS931

So if the water pump goes out, do you have to disassemble the entire thing? Love the set up, I've been looking at it and the Holley set up. Price wise this is waaay more affordable
@FoothillPaintandFabrication Жыл бұрын
The water pump bolts hold the main plate so you would have to loosen the belt and move the plate forward enough to get the water pump out and have goof access to clean the gasket surface and the like. The only limiting factor would be if there was enough slack in your A/C lines. I know a few people that are running this system and love the price, the look and the function. Mark

I really like this system and of course the price. I am close to starting my own car (GTO) and I will probably go with the CVF Racing system as well. It has good looks, well made and pretty compact. I know a few other people that have purchased one or it is on their list and they seem happy as well. It is surprising how many systems are out there now since CNC is widely available so hunt around and let me know if you find a good one. Mark

Do these work on older gen 1 350s with edelbrock vortec heads?
@FoothillPaintandFabrication Жыл бұрын
It all attaches to the water pump bolts so nothing contacts the heads at all. I am pretty sure it will fit but you should contact CVF Racing and ask to be certain. Here is a link: www.cvfracing.com/chevy/ Mark

Do you recommend using something like Loctite on the threads to prevent any bolts backing out??? Awesome video and great find on the pulley system!!
@FoothillPaintandFabrication2 жыл бұрын
All the bolts were torqued to the spec provided by CVF Racing and I am retorquing after a few heat cycles but yes a thread locker could be used but I wouldn't use to strong of one. Some of the bolts threaded into the main plate and then had a locking nut on the back. Putting thread locker on cap head bolts that are in a recessed hole could come back to haunt you later when you need to disassemble if you cannot break them loose and the allen head strips.

In this case I mounted it on the radiator support next to the coolant overflow. They offer remote or built in like stock. We opted for the remote.

What about AC lines and all that?
@FoothillPaintandFabrication2 ай бұрын
No A/C lines. They typically come with what ever A/C system you are using. On this car I installed the Vintage Air System but when we ordered it we had them delete the A/C compressor since it came with the Wraptor belt kit.
