We think the same. Cleaning up areas that you or nobody else will ever see, but knowing it's the best we can get it makes us feel good and a job done right. Respect!

Guess the previous owner took a shot at welding, thinking no one will ever see those Frankenstein scars everywhere. Hopefully the welds were good enough from the start and the grinding didnt weaken anything. And also hopefully the Previous Owner welded the underside to the rockers properly. I took the cover off my coupe this week now that the weather is starting to become reasonable. Water still got through the cover, into the cowl and on the new carpet, new floor pans, and underlayment. That cowl replacement is top priority now !

I rewelded anything that seemed weak thin or poorly done. I feel pretty good about it now. Good luck with the cowl. Big job but doable.

The “wrinkles” in the rear of your floor pan are supposed to be there. There are for clearance under the car

Yes, and if you go to CJ's and look at a photo of the convertible full floor pan, you can see those areas.

I’ll check it out. They look a lot like manufacturing side effects to me.

Clearance for what? There’s a small gap between the wrinkle and the rear frame. I imagined that the floor pan should be attached to the frame there. I’m puzzled now.

@@3rdstallgarage Hey Doug, those wrinkles are for the original style parking brake cables to pass through like a tunnel. They do look pretty banged up and not very tunnel like at this point.

@@kiptaylor-brown8096 Wow...really good to know. I would have removed them to make it look better. Thanks so much for the input. It's things like this that make all the filming worth it.
