1966 Nebraska at Oklahoma

This is the 11/24/1966 Nebraska at Oklahoma game. It is a color film with radio audio. The Cornhuskers were 10-1 in 1965 losing only to 4'th ranked Alabama in their bowl game. They picked up where they left off in 1966 coming into this game at 9-0 nestled just behind #1 Notre Dame and #2 Michigan State who had just played to a tie 5 days before. Alabama, whom they would meet in their Bowl game was 3'rd. All seemed to be in place for a great finish for Nebraska. On this Thanksgiving Day Oklahoma was the opponent. The game was in Norman but the Sooners were no longer the Bud Wilkinson led power that they were in the 40's and 50's. This was a rivalry though and it would only grow bigger the next 15 years. The Sooners would end Nebraska's undefeated dream with a late field goal in a tight struggle. I claim no rights to the film or the audio but I did authos this combination.

Jim Mackenzie was the OU coach. He died of a heart attack leading to Fairbanks taking over as head coach. Barry Switzer was one of the main offensive coaches at this time.

@@wmontanez27 I love going back and watching big games I watched live when I was a youngster. I hate they make me feel so dang old but man what a trip down Memory Lane. Everything was better with professional sports in the 70's till mid late 90's. I honestly cannot watch today's MLB or NBA but I still love college football and like the NFL
