That is a good looking machine.I have 580 CK on the farm in Australia that is the first series.Yours is a B series, judging by the square mud guards.I've noticed that the 188 ci motor lacks power when pushing big stuff, but they work well on the hoe side of things

Yea it does lack a little bit on shoving things around with the front end. It does what I need it to do, I just have to go patiently. As far as the hoe I have absolutely no complaints.

I am very happy for you! That is an amazing deal for $3000. I really like the cab and the doors that close. And it's all together and drive-able!!! Such a good find! As far as the tachometer cable, I am still tying to figure that one out myself. I see pictures online of the cable going to the back of the generator. Mine has a tach and a broken cable about three feet out from the gauge but no idea where it connects??? My generator doesn't have the adapter for the cable either??? I have looked around the engine without seeing where it would go. Yours probably had the adapter on the generator before someone changed it out for an alternator. I see kits online where a tach can pick up an electrical signal from the alternator but it looks like you need to buy the complete package with a new tach. For now, just enjoy the machine...and enjoy living in it. Haha I would be very happy to get mine to that stage someday...

Also, Mine doesn't have the High-Low selector or that little lever you wondered about. The clutch on mine is different too. Pedal is same but the linkage goes to a hydraulic valve under the fuel tank, where yours, I believe. goes to a mechanical link below the pedal that further controls a standard automotive type clutch in the bell housing. Mine is all done hydraulically inside the torque tube. I can't believe to deal you got! It all works which is great, but even if it didn't, you are sitting on $12,000 worth of spare parts. Old tractor parts are expensive and you, sir, are now the owner of a parts store...In 20 years that is. When the time comes and you've dug your last hole and smoothed your last driveway, you can sit in your rocking chair by the fire and sell the parts one by one on EBay. It is a Win Win situation.

Mine are the reprint with three brass rivets for binding. There's a tractor manual, Back and loader manual, service manual, and parts catalog. I suggest you go for all of them. It was about $100.
