Is that the gas cap in the middle of the back panel or just a round badge? They seems to be a similar design element there to the number one pony car, the Mustang.

Hey, Mick! It's a gas cap....this location was very popular at the time, sometimes exposed like this, sometimes behind a fold down license plate. Thanks! :) Jack
