I saw this and you said the piss hole was out the back I was told these a exhaust hole that's a mix of water and muffler the piss hole is on the side where the handle is ik this is 3 years old but I just picked one of these up and watches a ton of videos on it and everyone's water pissed out the side with a steam out the rear hold that I see on urs pissing water out

Yes, you are correct in noticing this. The pee hole was modified on this motor prior to me getting it. I left it alone because it was working fine as is.

i just inherited one of these from my grandfather. he bought it new in 1966 and still had all the paperwork. my uncle claims it still starts on a few pulls. what all should i consider replacing or rebuilding? he also gave me a 1966 StarCraft Pram in great condition. cheers!

Personally, I would replace the impeller and gear oil. Otherwise fresh fuel/oil mix and give it a whirl.

Enjoyed your video, as I recently got a 3.9 mercury. Want to test it in pail of water. I don't have the proper fuel tank and hose. Can I rig up a hose connected to a container of fuel to test it? Will the container need to be elevated (gravity fed), or will the running engine pull the fuel into it without elevation? Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Not sure I would do it that way. You're going to need a tank to run it eventually anyway, so I would probably just look for that. The motor does have a fuel pump, so it should pull fuel as long as it's submerged, but that seems risky to me.

Didn't check that because nobody really buys a 4 HP for speed. Guessing about 8 MPH wide open. Sold that one and I have a 1966 just like it only better condition. I might be able to try that in the spring after ice out if I don't sell it before then.

That's such an open question. I sold that one 4 years ago for $360 with a tank and hose. It all depends on condition, location, if it's a good runner (complete doesn't say it's a currently running motor). Plus it all comes down to what somebody is willing to pay for it.
