"with the optional Hemi v8, it's the original shutdown King"... Wow, he was talking about a 1967 Chrysler Hemi engine conservatively rated at 425 horsepower with two carter: 625 CFM carburetors, solid lifters and 10 1/2 to 1 compression...factory headers too... And built to drive on the old high grade hundred octane pump gas... What great days those must have been to be able to drive out of the show room with a car like this... That's a million dollar car if you can find an original hemi with low miles on it that has survived until now...what a time in car history...the late 60's...yeah, Plymouth, you won me over!!!!

Great commercial! Love the "Plymouth is out to win you over" theme song!

First time I saw this video was in 1992, I bought a video tape from Chryslers at Carlisle. It had all the muscle cars and stuff from the 60's, from the 60 plymouth through 1970 dodge, and included a couple commercials of the Imperial, Chrysler New Yorker, 300, as well as Chargers and baracuda's. Good to see them on the net.

I really liked that line, "Plymouth is out to win you over." It was a toss up between that and "Plymouth makes it." Two of the coolest by lines.

Great Story, I remember being with my Brother in 82 when he was 22 driving his brand new Camaro. The NY State Police had to set up a road block to stop us because their Dodge St Regis Police Cars could only do 105 mph....lol They had a few choice words for my brother too.

Shutting someone down is a drag racing term meaning kicking the ass. Winning or beating them.

I had to change the water pump in my car today. I made sure to spill as much of the coolant all over the floor as I could.

Interesting 6/8 jazz/rock fusion version of the '67 Plymouth theme song. Most TV ads featured a straightforward 4/4 version of the song.

I Had a coronet r/t with a 440 magnum motor in it. I got my first ticket in it going over 100 mph I was only 17 at the time. I cannot repeat what the highway patrol officer said to me when I pulled over but he had been trying to catch me for the last 20 miles. I sold that car for 600 dollars! That was over 30 years ago! Do you think the guy would sell it back to me for the same 600 dollars?

well, that dealer would have been selling Chrysler too, they were dual dealers in the Chrysler Plymouth network.....now if you went to the Pontiac or Oldsmobile dealer today, yep, it might be empty now

Straight forward, what you want to hear about a car, no lecture about how safe the car is or fuel economy nonsense, just talking about how bad ass the car is! I am a single male driver, I don't care about that pussy stuff!
