Mike, The photos taken before disassembly when contrasted with the car as it is now are very revealing. I am really enjoying watching the car go back together.

Amazing to see those before and after photos. The undercarriage looks almost too nice to put on the road...haha. Also, loved the new video edit styling, great job.

Hi Derek Thanks! Yes those old pictures are quite a contrast. Its going to be difficult to keep her this clean once shes back on the road..Maybe I will bring her into the living room and use for decoration=) My OCD will definitely be struggling!

Something I’ve done before mike with the pedal box is cut a rubber gasket backer from an old rubber floor mat to prevent vibration. Just a little cleaner than seam sealer

You mention "red rubber grease" at 3:45. I have seen it used on seals, but why on the threads? Is it different than high-temp wheel bearing grease? Thanks for taking time to create and share your videos.
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations Жыл бұрын
Hello Dennis The purpose of the grease is to prevent galling on the threads, should any of the lubricant make its way into the lines the rubber grease is mineral based and will break down and not interfere with the fluid. its just a small precaution Cheers!

Fantastic once again Mike. Always excited to see one of your great videos! What did you use for the brake line insulators? Did you make your own? And what did you use to cover the bendable metal tabs that hold the wiring harness in place? Most of mine are shot or missing!
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew Great question! I'm using 1/8 rubber vacuum line cut in small pieces for the brake lines and use electrical shrink tubing for the bendable tabs. The factory used vinyl tubing but not all the tabs were covered The shrink tubing works pretty good and give a bit cleaner and tighter look

Thanks Mike! I'll do the same, what you did looks great and works well by the looks of it.

Awesome job! How was it installing the main brake line through the tunnel? I need to do this on mine soon. I'm thinking the hardest part would be removing the transmission support to get access to where it exits the back.

Thanks It actually wasn't too bad but keep in mind the car is on a rotisserie and engine out of the way. Im sure its doable with engine in but probably have to navigate around some things Good Luck!

Would it have been difficult to upgrade to a dual diagonal system?
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Gregg It shouldn't be too difficult to do..Im thinking the thing to watch out for would be the length of throw on the brake pedal rod in the new master cylinder Ive had issues before where unmatched measurements can lock up the brakes Other than that I would think a diagram would be easy to download somewhere on the web

@@MikesRestorations Hi Mike. The line at 12:20 that just pushes on. I just found it interesting that there is no clamp or anything. Thank you for posting these great videos.
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations 4 жыл бұрын
Oh yes I see what you are referring too.. Yes it does seems a bit weird.. how it works is that line only self levels the fluid reservoir so to speak..gravity fed..when the piston pushes forward the reservoir does not pressurize with piston movement as the fluid moves toward the pressurized lines..when the piston retreats so does the fluid and addition fluid from the reservoir re- levels out. Pretty ingenious system they come up with. Great question thanks for commenting!
