That is a well detailed engine with intake and exhaust manifolds that look like the real parts. I wish all car kits did that!

PN, This kit is pretty nicely detailed and the only real issue is the front and rear fascia fit. The edges need trimming down. Thanks! PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers. -Doug

Very nice build of a good AMT kit. I like the attention to detail that was achieved by the paint detailing. I can tell that the paint detailing is based on some research of the real car. Extra points for that. Good job.

Question What is the easiest way to get the review mirror on? I had real time getting it to stick and ended up ruining the window because the super glue got all over the window.
@RightOnReplicas2 жыл бұрын
Scott, Great question. I'll let you in on a little secret. It's called LCD Touch Screen Repair Tape. It's double-sided black tape in various widths! I use the 2mm size for mirrors. It works well for things that have a black gasket under them. I attach it to the mirror stem and place it on the window before I install the glass. It can be trimmed before removing the backing paper and works for other things like side view mirrors, spoiler stantions, etc. It can be repositioned and any residue will come off with lighter fluid on a cotton swab. I have build Both the 67 Shelby and Mustang version of this kit. An Ertl Era Kit, it is Highly detailed and has some nice features. But.... It is Difficult in assembly. The Front and Rear Clip, Grill, Tail light area are separate parts and a Nightmare to attach. I am a Very experienced modeler and it took me an hour to file, sand and re shape the Nose clip to fight straight and even against the front fenders. I still had gaps where the head light's meet the top of the fenders. I understand this had to be done to avoid tooling Two Different bodies, but, this was no easy build. REMEMBER TO Check the angle of the Head Lights so they don't point downward when you attach the Front clip. They should be level. The Front clip as well as the rear are slightly wader than the Body part, so getting it even is a challenge. I had to bend the lower front fender's in front of the front wheel well's Outward carefully then push them back slowly when cementing. A comment on the upcoming AMT 1967 Mustang GT in May 2021 " I hope Round 2 adds the missing M-U-S-T-A-N-G Lettering to the Trunk part this time ? Speaking of the Trunk part... The Instructions state to Cut out the plastic where the Trunk part attaches. Well if you do you risk chipping out a piece of the surrounding body and having an open gap around your trunk. Also you only have one Glue point above the Taillight's ( Rear Clip) to cement to, I left that molded in piece stay and just sanded the raised " REMOVE" \Letters off, then Cemented the Trunk part over top of the insert allowing a small even gap around the Trunk to the surrounding Body. Good Luck Building this kit, It takes some extra work but it is a very nice model when completed.

@RightOnReplicas9 ай бұрын
NG, In this case it wasn't primed. With a thorough wet sanding and because of the type of paint used (real enamel) it is opaque enough to use directly. Thanks for watching, and please subscribe if you haven't already, to help us continue our mission to inspire more modelers! -Doug

How would you paint the parts and what type of paint
@RightOnReplicas9 ай бұрын
Posh, Spray paints for plastic models like Tamiya and Testors paint are best for large parts. Small bottle paints from the same manufacturers applied by brush, can be used for small parts. Hi. I dont know if you are seeing this but I just bought this model from Michael's and thought it to be a 3D puzzle with fitting pieces but I realised they need to be glued. I am new to this since it is my first one do you have any tips on how to build it?
@RightOnReplicas2 жыл бұрын
M, It IS a puzzle of sorts! Unlike a jigsaw puzzle the instructions and our review will show you how to build. Study both before you begin and orient the parts the same way as the instructions. After gluing, let the parts set before adding more. Go slow and you'll be surprised how much fun it can be! WHERE IS PART 33 the transmission support
@RightOnReplicas2 жыл бұрын
Chad, That's kind of an open question. You can see the silver support at 6:15 bridging the driveshaft tunnel. On the sprue its next to the exhaust pipes. On the instructions it on the fifth page. In the real car its under transmission shifter. -PS, please subscribe if you haven't already to help us reach more modelers! -Doug

I built this some time in the early 2000s, it was molded in red. I like the yellow color scheme here and that engine looks just plain fantastic! But I found the stripe decals fussy and the opening trunk lid and hood never really fit properly.

I built one in English racing green. The track on the front is a bit too wide. Had to cut it down a bit. I recommend painting the racing stripes on. The decals are too thick and dont conform well. The smaller decals are ok,however

Nicely detailed. I can't say that I've ever seen a Shelby in Spingtime Yellow (Paint Code 8, offered 1965-1968). Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I saw any Mustang in Springtime Yellow. But I did find a link that matches the model: mustangattitude.com/mustang/1967/1967_00038_01.shtml
