The A-4 Skyhawk & F-4 Phantom! Both Blue Angels around the same time as They transition from F-4's into A-4's in 1974! Lol which is kinda funny when you think about it, The A-4 first flight was 1954, and F-4 was 1958. The F-4 is 4 years newer! I believe the switch was mainly due to maneuverability! Its absolutely cool af to see The F-5, F-4, and A-4 all flying together!👍👍

Actually, the switch to the A-4 for the Blue Angels was mostly economic - due to the 1973 Oil Embargo - the A-4 obviously burns a LOT less fuel. The maneuverability was just an added bonus.

As someone who worked at the USN F-5 aggressor squadron (VFC-13 livery) I love it anytime you use these amazing little fighters. 2023 and in the hands of the right pilots they are still humbling folks at Top-Gun.

This was a fun one!! I’m not gonna lie, highlight for me was Super Cap quoting Predator!!! “I’m gonna have me some fun, I’m gonna have me some fun!!” It was right before the DCS crash, but it was freaking brilliant!! Grim Reapers is full on entertainment, I get to learn history, technological information about various aircraft and weapons, and on top of it, I get to hear Super Cap regularly drop perfectly placed pop culture references!! Great flying as always Grim Reapers!!!

I know with B52's, water injection created more thrust, but also more black smoke. F4 used water injection to precool the inlet air, so that may contribute to the smoke.

Yes unfortunately my bombing skills in the F-5 need some work plus took a lot of damage loosing an engine on each of the two runs so that didn’t help, unfortunately our sniper like gun runs didn’t make it into the video 😂

DCS Rolling Thunder Historical Campaign Idea; Continually hit the same target day after day while the number of SAM sites around it increases dramatically. The US government was supposedly giving mission target information to North Vietnam in a bid to limit civilian casualties in the target areas if they were more populated like factory installations or bridges.

I would love to see a historical Mission but with the different factions, either switched or swapped out for allies i.e. this Mission, but it's French and British versus North Vietnamese/Chinese. An alternate history where the French still have Indochina and the UK is helping them. Or an alternate history with US backed NVA versus USSR and the liveris are changed to match
