I used to have this, my grandmother had crocheted it and my mom gave it to me, that was in the early 1970's. I don't know what happened to it, but I can now make it again, thank you ❤ my mom used to wear it over her curlers in her hair, lol 😂

I love what you said! One of these would be a great improvement over the kitchen towels a lot of women used over their curlers! I do not miss the pain of brush rollers, but there was the idea that we were getting ready for something, even if it was just school or work that was wonderful!

Oh this is perfect for me. I walk my dog early in the morning and wear coverage on my natural hair. Time for a “new” style. I’d use cotton for the summer. I like the spaces to help with air flow. It’s getting hot out here in the mornings. I’m in the Land of Enchantment, home of Hatch chile. NM!!

Hi Wendy. You live down near my Aunt June Rutherford. She lives in Salem and was one of the instrumental figures in starting the Hatch Chili Festival. Her son, Jimmy, owned the Hatch Chili Connection. He recently passed away. I love that part of NM! My husband and I considered moving there at one time but stayed up here in the Texas panhandle. I don't know why we didn't just do it! My brother is a well known, southwest artist. He lives in Taos, NM. We have been NM lovers my whole life. I even lived in Taos when I was 19-20 years old. I loved it up there! My other brother has a 2nd home up in Red River. We love to go up there and hang out, too!

Hello from Truth or Consequences NM, 30 miles north of Hatch! You're right, the mornings this summer were blazing; I had to have the gardens and chickens all tended to before 10! I love the design on this snood and am gonna have to make it up to confine this hair of mine against our southwest winds!

I was surprised of the 1967 date. I think of a snood as a 1940-1950 fashion. Very cute and practical. It may be more comfortable than a hat and how fast to put that on instead of pinning your hair up in a pun. Thanks, love your projects.

Well girl, you proved me wrong! 😊 My first impression when I saw the pattern pic was - that's clunky for a snood! The word "snood" brings to mind the lacy pieces that society ladies wore way back when. I LOVE YOUR SNOOD!!! Have to make time to make at least one for me! My hair is ridiculously long, so I keep it twisted & clipped up unless it's cold, when I wear it down for warmth. Your snood would soften that look. I prefer your version of the bow. But with my love of crochet flowers, I would sub a pretty flower to compliment the flower created by the start of the piece. Thank you for gifting us another of your excellent tutorials!

I'm so glad you changed the bow. I like it so much better. Also a snood was traditionally secured with Bobby pins or hairpins. Because they are a little loose fitting.

Love this! I made it along with you and realized that it was way too big for my very thin longish hair so I omitted some of the netting rows and finished it off as directed. Perfect. And you were right - did it in I love this cotton and it was very easy to work with and turned out very light! Less than half a skein! Great break from bigger projects! Thank you for sharing!!!!

OK, Snood done and dusted. took me 3 hours 🙄🙄, but I did spend a fair amount of time searching for yarn - I literally ran out of the yarn I started using as I got to do the rim/band/edge thaang. Ended up doing the band in a similar colour but in a DK weight - actually gave the band a nice snug fit. But I must admit that my Snood looks more like a puffy slightly droopy beanie 😂😂like a Rasta hat. But I love it all the same and it holds my mass of hair without falling off my head like other beanies do. Thank you Corinna, its been wonderful spending my Friday evening with you 🥰

I made one along with you in a cotton/silk/wool blend yarn and my adult girls lobed it so I am in the process of making one for each of them and one for myself in different cotton yarns. I decided it to use DK yarn for the rest and that will make it a tad smaller sinze I dropped sized of yarn and hook. I will adjust rounds for longer or shorter hair lengths. Thank you for sharong this pattern!!

I love the snood my grandma used to wear to bed when I was little. She had another one she would wear to do house work and a better one to wear to the drugstore when she would take me there for a strawberry phosphate in 1965. Hysterical how all these patterns take me back! I began crocheting with Aunt Lydia’s rug yarn. It was cheap and tough as nails.

I don't know how you do it, but the last few videos (every last one of them) have given me gift ideas. Incidentally, if you're having trouble trying to pronounce "snood," call it for what it is these days: a slouchie beanie, which are quite popular with 30-year-old women these days. They don't have to know the pattern is older than I am (I'll be 54 next January). As soon as the video started, I had in mind who to make one for. Keep 'em coming, girl, you're the best!
