I bought my 1967 Deluxe Beetle in 1970 from a showroom floor in Omaha Nebraska after returning home from the Army... obviously a creampuff. It was identical to this one but with only 19,760 miles on the clock and in near new condition. Regardless of worth, I wish I still had it. It was a great car and this video stirs many nonviolent and happy memories.

Wow !! My first Beetle/car was a white '67 1300. Pleasant memories. Only during later years I realised that I should have kept it. Too late though. Must keep us posted on getting it on the road ! Tks.

Man, you are obsessed with the old beetles, which is good to see and lucky for the old bugs. When I moved to Canada at 15 years old in '79, they still had brand new convertibles in the showroom at COWELL MOTORS in Richmond BC. I used to dream about them, but really wanted a hard top. I never did get one, but in High School my buddy had one, so got to drive around a lot in a 1970 semi automatic. Now I prefer the 61-66 & 67 which of course is a different category all together, Cheers.

I want so badly to start my own collection and start working on classic VWs again. My first car when I was 15 was a 69 bug in firetruck red, all original, it belonged to my great grandmother who drove it down from Alaska to Texas every year for Christmas, and it still had the dents in the rear fenders from the gravel highway!

I owned a Java 67 myself! Color matched fender beading was used through 1973. Decklid is 68-69. License light is 74 or later.

This is perhaps the 3rd video of yours that's made it into my feed. I follow just a few VW channels for info, tips and tricks. My first car was a 72 Super. Cried the day I sold it. Now, over 20 years later I'm back at it. Bought another 72 Duper and I'm about a year and a half into a slow, full resto-mod. I have a ton of pictures of the process but I really should have gotten video. Even got my 11 year old daughter to assist in disassembly. I love this 67 you got!

That has been stored extremely well for the electrical system to be working so nicely, not your usual purchase but I'm liking it very much, you must be thrilled to not have to dig out the mask and goggles for de-mousing 🐭, clean fuel, nice spark and pray for compression, looking forward to seeing the next video

Nice find on the '67, and nice formula vee. I also like all the tractor trailer models the guy has. I have the orange Kenworth cabover, which I bought as a kid and lost many years ago, and found another one (price went WAYYYY up :-() I few years back and I bought it again. Its still not put together lol but at least I have it once more. Love me some big over the road trucks, at least in 1/24th scale lol!!

Very solid and original. Put back the original oil bath air cleaner, pronto! 😉. Only needs a good clean up and maintenance and a rear engine compartment seal and you should be good to go. And yes....they all ran when parked...🤣😂. I believe Formula Vees are 1200 cc. Pretty stock.

When it turned over, it sounded like all of the cylinders had compression. Nice find! I have a buddy fully restoring (New floor pan and many other things!) a bug. Can't remember the year. I think it's a '64.

One year only 1967, 1500 with original Aircleaner. Its just golddust! In germany they still had the old headlights. The US version had the newer ones.

well I buffed some of that paint yesterday and the green wasn't terrible until i realized the org dash looks blue in comparison . So I went from being like " yeah , i can roll this " to " where is the gallon of stripper " haha. The " holy grail " was a joke , It cracks me up when you see 67's for sale " Rare , 67 , one year only " " most desirable year " ....Vw only made like 925,000 67's :)....and yes , i need a semaphore Bug👍

That's interesting that you have a Sapphrie IV radio which is a rare 6v AM/FM radio but also have the rare '67 rubber radio knobs. The 12v version of the radio is the Sapphire VI. Also it appears you have an accessory cigarette lighter as well which is a very nice touch and not super common. Great looking car for sure. That shift knob is a VOA accessory as well by the way. It was probably installed at the dealership from the beginning

Also, there is a plastic cap….on top of the hinges….take it off and PB Blast that hole. Supposed to pit a drop or two of oil in there occasionally….but no one ever does. The mirror unscrews and the hole is underneath.

Yes, that has the wrong deck lid and apron….but since the apron is wrong, you can saw it off…..weld some brackets and make the apron a bolt on. Yes you would have to cut the engine gasket….but easy to take the engine in and out. 😀

45???? forty Five??? I thought I was bad when I had 26 classic trucks in my collection!! Hahaha. This may be one of the nicest models you have purchased. Well done good sir! I’m excited for this one. Right at the level I like purchasing. It’s still a little expensive to make it perfect, but not insane hours like extensive rust repairs can take. I would pull the interior, the motor and trans, go over all of the suspension, find what’s missing (hopefully) and then it’s all clean/rebuild or replace (preferably NOS) then reassemble. I try to detail the suspension even. You would hate doing one of my vehicle possibly. When they are done there is zero grime/bare metal/rust. It is often better than new was. I respect the true vintage fans that are preserving a vintage finish. The occasional satin clear coated vehicles that are very straight definitely catch my attention. Those that are vintage because there’s no money in the bank and they become a “hoopty vehicle”, I’m not a fan of. Haha. I catch flack from a lot of people that don’t like restoring to better than new. I have a 67 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed car with just over 40,000 miles. It is, and always will be, exactly stock. It was garage stored all of its life so it is pretty perfect anyway. My 67 Mustang 2+2 was purchased with no motor, transmission, a wonky rear differential and zero interior or wiring. That car was a blank slate that I restored to look as if it was the original 390 GT it started life as, but there’s a mild 330 hp 302 fuel injected. I work with what I get, as you do, but I’m fortunate enough to be able to curb my buying quests to one being worked on and one waiting, no more!! I did miss out on some very nice trucks as a result, but that’s life! Heh heh. Can’t wait to see this one get out on the road!!

Question for anyone familiar with this '67 VW: at 8:15, Jason replaces a reservoir (looks like it holds wiper fluid) next to the brake fluid reservoir. On the top left of the wiper fluid reservoir, it appears to be a TR-type air valve (for tires). Did VW design this unit to accept air so as to pressurize the wiper fluid out & on the windshield? Never seen this before.
