Looking at an earlier video of this car, where you drag raced the 56 and LeMans and then put the Charger up on the lift and evaluated it, just wanted to say this about the Charger. This has really good bones for a second Gen Charger. She’s so solid underneath compared to most project Chargers of this generation. Most of them have no rear frame rails or trunk floor left. The floor pans are always gone and the roofs are rotted away. I live in the rust belt and we don’t find many Charger projects here any more. So you have a great starting point. I see that you keep upgrading your goals on this car the longer you have it. That’s the right thing to do with it as it’s going to be worth the $ you invest in it!

It's getting there! Can I just make a small suggestion and that is the oil pan. I had a giant 7 quart gold milodon pan on my 69 charger with a 440. I ended up going with a stockish 5 qtr pan cause a kept bottoming out in the road especially since you are using the mustang II drop spindles. Just putting that out there

Do you guys have any experience with 3M body panel adhesive ? They make a special tool that will grip the edge of a panel, then the none crimped side of the seam just sits in flush. They say the adhesive is stronger than a weld, and easier to glaze over. Never used it myself, but it looks interesting.
@olikat89 ай бұрын
While neat to look at, I can not justify the $10k or more the whole set up costs. Want to make it handle? Look up Rick Ehrenberg's old tech articles on how to improve & maximize the stock set up. Firm Feel makes some very good pieces as well. Chris Birdsong did a very funny episode of how a lot of aftermarket stuff is big $, marginal at best. And parts? Where would you get parts if stuff breaks out on the road? You can't.

FYI nothing really bolts on and stays true, especially front ends with heavy driving. With the BIG block you're adding a lot of extra weight and pushing the flexibility of steering, get advice on reinforcement, or else your going to have a nice ride that is going to sit more than a reliable everyday driver anymore. Have a buddy who dropped in a M408-HR-TK-S on a 74 Cuda 480HP @4500rpm Small block, and a dream to drive. It's looking good though you must be psyched...Nice.

Groovy man! And did you know the 383 b block is standard, but the 383 RB block means, raised block so the 440 piston rods can be used longer than the the standard 383, and has more than the hemi engine, that's why more was sold. And the original suspension with rack-in-pinon was a mustang2.
