I have always been fascinated by the late 60s, and this video just increases my fascination with that period. Everything seemed so much classier and cleaner than today. I could definitely see me driving one of those 😊❤️

My Dad brought one of my older sister's a brand new 68 Galaxy 500 Fastback w/390 red with black cloth interior, in November 1967. What a beautiful car. When I look at commercials for Ford it is unbelievable that you could walk in to a dealership and buy such a work of art.

Miss our ‘68 Country Squire with hidden headlamps. Sitting in the way back. And Dad Refused to use the A/C because it used more gas he said. Only once we used it on a sweltering day combing back from the beach. Many beach trips in that car and local Pond. And many sheets of plywood and ladders to do wallpapering. That car went through a lot and in the 8 years we had it not one issue. At 14 years old I did body work for a re- spray. Our Neighbor painted it. We bough it in 1970. Traded it in 1978 for all things a 1978 Subaru coupe. Rotted in 2 years with Rusty Jones. tops of Fenders were missing when traded in 1982 for another Subaru wagon this time. Much better than the ‘78.

The cars of the sixties especially like these are what motoring was all about. Yes they ate gas, gas mileage wasn’t a big deal but you had a vehicle that had style, performance, and comfort
@OsbornTramain
@OsbornTramain 3 жыл бұрын
They didn't eat gas....that's a common myth, Their mileage wasn't bad at all, not until the 1970's when Emission Standards came into play, that's what sapped the gas mileage and made them expensive to run. But not a 1968 Ford
@woodyofp8574
@woodyofp8574 3 жыл бұрын
@OsbornTramain Well, sure the efficiency wasn't *that* bad before emissions, but we're still talking 10-16mpg for a big full size American car.

I think that’s the last thing I am going to do is climb a volcano in my brand new fastback. Being a Pontiac fan nothing appealed to me in 1968 except maybe the Firebird. The 68 XL has always been my favourite Ford and will continue to do so. 428 four-speed fastback, beautiful car.

? I thought the Mustang was a car? The Ford Escape looks like a car, so does the GT? The closer I look at the Ford Focus and the Puma and the Kuga they clearly look like cars to me? The Ford Focus Station Wagon in Germany looks like a car and it's a station wagon, not an SUV. They started with one car, the Model T, does that mean they weren't a car company because they only made one car? The Model T? Stop spreading fake or false news or history.
