Nice vid I’ve been considering purchasing bushings from an Australian company that claims there bushings are durable yet somewhat soft and also have self lubricating material and grooves that also allows additional lube so they won’t squeak. There’s a kit that will do my whole car but it’s like 350 smacks so I’m debating on this one because I’ve never heard of these before. And I’ve been hearing about the polys just one day break up like crumbs or sum so IDK.

The ratio is tough to get right if you don't use the whole can, and you have to make molds for each piece so it may be a bigger pain than it's worth. But it was a fun project.

I would have kept them as one large tube and alumn pin. and poured it to make one long poly tube which then you could cut to the width you need. Just tripple check the measurements so you dont mess up the whole thing. Thank you for uploading this though!

You know, I thought of doing it that way after the fact. It would have been a lot easier. Hindsight... Thanks for the comment.

Great video. The bush will be as hard as.....when your on your honeymoon night. After a few years, it will get soft, and the 'bush' will have to be replaced, back to the hard one you had years earlier when all was good. ( If you get my drift )

I've since replaced this stock setup with rose joints, which are much better.

Good Video, what was the amount of Poly that came in the kit? What was the dimensions of the parts you were making so I can work the math to do mine? Thanks

They are 1.5" OD, .5" ID and .7" high. I was able to make 16 of them with the kit with a little left over that was waste - the kit is 400ml of fluid.

I've seen a nice material, the guy added Molybdenum powder to the mix, as Moly is a lubricant, he says that is a non-squeak noise bushing as it is self-lubricant, it is like graphite, but by far better material, I want to make some for my sc400, i am lazy I would hate to grease up bushing after a any rain

You can speed up any video to your liking on KZbin by clicking on the 3 dots in top right corner and then adjusting the playback speed.

I’m considering just using this mix overtop of existing bushing.... thoughts?
@JRsGarage5 жыл бұрын
Doubt that will work. Bushings are made to be a particular size and if they don't fit right they will throw off the suspension geometry. You could perhaps use it to fill in a cracked bushing to firm it up but I can't picture how covering the bushing would work.

JR's Garage Yes that’s exactly what I am planning to just fill in overtop existing just as a temporary fix until spring mostly due to finances

rather then making a bunch of small molds why didn't you make one long bushing the cut to length?
@JRsGarage4 жыл бұрын
I was afraid the inner tube would not stay precisely in the middle and then the inside hole would be terribly off center on one end or the other.

I will never understand why other people can't grasp that not everyone is trying to build a channel with views that rival Joe Rogan. Some people upload content that they hope can provide useful insight into something that they wanted to try, sometimes without other existing sources to help guide them through the experience. In this case it seems that there are plenty of videos on the subject but of course I'm not checking who uploaded theirs first. Just like or don't like the video. Appreciate it or not and move the hell on. Point is the person whose video this is intent is obviously to be helpful. Perhaps if some feel that he spoke too much in the video does not concern him. Especially after the first 1 or 2 people say it. Good lord I can't stand seeing when people just keep criticising the poster, especially if they aren't offering a video tutorial on how to make the most entertaining and time efficient videos
@JRsGarage4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply, it's never been my point to be an entertainment channel. If people don't have time to learn how to do something maybe they shouldn't be tackling the job.

@@JRsGarage haha! Well, I was born in Ruislip (Sussex). This hardly explains posting a video on an American website with mostly American viewers talking in hardly-used UK currency, but that's cool. Just curious. 😎
