Thanks everyone. I built this car but alas I have never driven it. The guy who bought it from me did finish it with some help from The Shop, Inc and then proceeded to take off a couple of weeks later and drove a completely untested car on Speed Week for 2,000 miles and 6 or 7 drag races. He said it performed flawlessly.

The shape of the original design was not lost to contemporary modding ideas. The kind of design values that say "I know it's almost finished but I'll just be disappointed if I don't make these changes", is admirable in my book, and the apparent simplicity of line of the finished article is in fact the result of painstaking attention to detail rather than flambouyant brutishness as so many widebodys err on.
