I don't think these comments are entirely fair, this lecture is a good revision tool for anyone studying 1968. And the issue of conscription may have been fundamental for Americans but it was not the fundamental issue for protesters in other parts of the globe, it was more the fact that it was an example of American imperialism, of a powerful nation using overwhelming force to crush a nation's quest for independence and self-determination.
