Lets us not forget Greg Lake of ELP fame. He played the Zemaitis 12-string live at Cal Jam 74 with the great song, Still, you turn me on. A true masterpiece! Thanks much for sharing.

Greg also had a Zemaitis acoustic with a heart shaped sound hole, and at least one electric he used on the 'Welcome Back My Friends' tour in 73-74. That 12 string sounded massive. Mark was impressed!

I've played one of these belonging to an 'English Rock star' on a session years ago - no other 12 string acoustic comes close, and I've never laid eyes upon one since In the one-man lithier studios stakes, no one beats the late, great Antanus Zemaitis - brilliant that you guys got hold of one - and nice playing, Mark.

This guitar even sounds English, The White Cliffs, The rolling South Downs, The beautiful honey coloured stone of a Cotswold village, The dramatic and ancient Dorset Jurassic coast, The rugged fells of the Lake District, The wild windswept Yorkshire moors, The quaint picturesque Cornish fishing villages, Swinging London, The humour of Liverpool I could go on, basically this guitar sounds amazing.

Lots of cool stories about Tony over the years. Apparently (I think it was) Keith Richards went to his house to order a guitar and saw one on the wall he liked the look of, and offered to buy it there and then. Tony was very unhappy with him because they were all made bespoke with one guy in mind; it didn't enter his mind to just sell one to somebody, no matter how famous they were. A guy who had one made in the 70s went to his house for a cup of tea and chat. After this discussion Tony would make the guitar and you basically got what you were given; he remembers Tony asking to see his left hand and then feeling the dimensions of it all over. He used that examination to decide the dimensions of the neck. Awesome.

Best flat top Friday ever. Tony always said a 12 string should be tuned to C as it was basically a bass instrument. His name was also actually pronounced Zamatis & not Zamitis!

Beautiful...one of the guitars I learned on was a 12-String. It was one of two guitars aboard my ship in the Navy. The other acoustic was missing the E-String. The 12-String was a 10-String but it had all the important strings :D
