If you ever hang out at over a hundred miles an hour, it's really nice to be weighing about 3200 to 3700 lb. Roadability, at a hundred miles an hour you've caught up with your suspension. Just like you can outrun your headlights; you can outrun your suspension. Thanks for sharing. I turned a Ferrari down on my 18th birthday. I've been kicking myself in the head ever since. I want what the Ferrari stands for. A Ferrari is more than a car, it is the trophy of Personal Achievement. Young spoiled brats get those cars and they beat them. They would come to the shop with 13000 miles on them and a blown rear end. It used to piss me off and break my heart. Do you know what it takes to build something of that level of refinement? I still want one

If you don't like the styling, Jean - don't buy one, get yourself a Triumph Spitfire or a Miata MX5 instead - there, fixed it for you ! Plus this chap doesn't say a single word about it being "all motor in a sub-par chassis" - you invented that. He actually says how great it is on the open road. Far from being "sub par", the chassis is fine - nice stiff frame, good weight distribution, double wishbone suspension all-round, plenty of power, strong, reliable, straightforward to work on - this is why they made great racing cars for the dealer/privateer teams. (He's plain wrong though, when he claims that it has a "Colombo motor" and the "cams run directly on top of the valves"..... It has a big-block Lampredi engine - (the Colombo V12 was a small-block that stretched up to 3.3 litres as in the previous 275 GTB) - and a moments thought tells you that no engine has a camshaft that runs "directly on top of the valves" - you'd wreck both cam-lobe and valve-stem within milli-seconds of starting it ! ) The 400 horse-power he mentions is conservative - some teams tweaked them to around 450, but you don't tweak engines to the max if you want reliability and good power throughout the range. Despite the weight, a competition Daytona can hit 100 mph - (160 km/h for you metric types...) - in ten seconds, which is pretty useful. Interesting info on the stiffening of the door-pillars when making the convertibles, but not sure he's right about these cars having aluminium doors, hood/bonnet and other parts - anybody able to confirm this ? And do convertibles really have different inner front wheel-arches ? If so, why ? Is the screen-angle different between coupes and convertibles ? Have read this, but don't know for certain. Pity he didn't bother to find out how to pronounce Chinetti's name properly before he started making the vid.....Jay Leno has the same problem with pronouncing Italian names - which is pretty weird in a guy who's part Italian.

Design likes and dislikes are totally subjective. I and many others think the Daytona is by far one of the most beautiful Ferraris.
