I actually have a very rare 1967-69 Sears Custom with a snowblower I picked up with a deck and Briggs 19 for $50 a few years ago. Last time I used it, it shot the snow about 20' in the air. It's a really nice tractor.

I can appreciate this highly, I have a IH Cub Cadet 125 and a 1450 and I will NEVER buy anything else unless it's a IH Cub Cadet.......

When dealing with high compacted snow, a good way is to hit it with the blower in the raised position, then back off and clean it up on the lowered position. It takes about the same time, but it's a lot easier on the tractor.
@Sevalecan Жыл бұрын
Easier on the tractor? Not gonna hurt it to run the engine hard and put a little torque through the hydrostatic. Just got a QA42 for my 149 for an incoming snowstorm and I'm very encouraged by how how he was able to push through each pass.

that's really awesome, thanks for posting it. I use an old Gilson 16HP w/plow made in 1972 with a hydro trans and power hydraulic lift

We use our tractors for everything from tractor racing around the neighborhood, to pulling full sized car trailers, pushing dirt and mulch, and of course moving snow. After the engine was rebuilt, we accumulated quite a few hours on it racing around the neighborhood before we began the snow season. Another rebuild is not in order. The knocking was generated by a loose governor arm. A new governor arm and clip are in the mail. Once received the engine will go back together and run perfectly

hey buddy i got a 1968 cub cadet 125 with a 36" snowblower on it does it throw snow like the 42"
@ad3569 жыл бұрын
its not that these were BAD units but i just didnt care for mine. it really didnt throw that far and it did not get along with my crappy mud/stone driveway. i had a 147 i ended up selling the tractor and blower i just had too much stuff. i also had a jd 112 square fender as well. what really works well for my situation...... a 1948 farmall cub with a 54" blade. i have chains, weights, tires loaded with rim guard. that little cub will push snow as deep as what your were removing. i dont have to worry about stones getting stuck in the auger, i dont have to deal with getting blasted in the face with snow either. as good as the old cast iron kohlers are the C60 4 cylinder found in the old cub is an even tougher engine. not really a small engine its an AG engine with pressure lubrication, liquid cooling, automotive style rods and bearings. its old tech but extremely tough and overbuilt. the tractor also has hydraulic lift making raising the implements a breeze. literally zero effort to raise the blade and make another pass

+andrew donohue i have pushed 2 feet deep snow with my farmall. pivot the blade it will clear out just about any amount of snow. well at least i have never run into a problem

ScreaminJimmy, I have a 70's 1450 hydro with an IH snow thrower, and with my first run blowing snow with only 4-6 inches it kept plugging up the chute and or stopping the pto, what could be wrong with my machine, I would love go as fast as your machine! thanks
@screaminjimmy6V53T9 жыл бұрын
+Norsk Knight I am not very familiar with the 1450 Cub Cadet, but I'd sure bet that your PTO needs to be adjusted. Once the PTO is set, a new belt properly tensioned should get you back in business. The chutes on our single stage blowers rarely get clogged. A loose belt and PTO will definitely give you the problems you describe.

Is that a K-341 or 301? I need to rebuild my k181 on my wheel horse b80. I use it to mow lawns and plow in the winter. The rod is knocking and I don't want it to blow up so I hope I can find a replacement until I get it done.

Its nice to have some snow to do that in, SO i ask, How many belts did you guys have to buy for PTO to Blower, I know the original belt for the QA42 is small and can sometimes burn up fast in some heavy snow, but that stuff looks powdery, and how often did you have to clean the chutes on the tractors? With mine I had to cover the front to keep the heat off the chute so the snow would not melt and stick inside it, Quality video, nice tractors, I love CC tractors, What did you get per driveway for clearing>?
@screaminjimmy6V53T11 жыл бұрын
Although the belt is a smaller 3/8" belt, it actually did not need to be replaced at all. Every season we install new belts and we periodically check that they are tight. As long as the belt is tight it should not wear out that fast. We have never had a problem with the chutes clogging. They might clog once the whole year, and thats about it. We do not ask any specific price for snow removal, we only take what they want to give. Its more fun than anything for us!
