Loved my 78 MGB and only sold it when moving to US. It never let me down in 60,000 miles and sold it for more than I paid for it. Never liked the rubber bumpers though. Great to drive and I loved the electric overdrive. Perfect car for me.

This car seems very sympathetic to work on, good car for beginners to learn on. Great series, keep them coming! Cheers.

Wish I had not sold my MG. Suprisingly for many it never let me down and did me proud for 25 or so years. Thanks for posting, makes the day watching your videos.

Oh yes... Gold and Silver Seal engines geraboxes and components were definitely your friends back in the 80s in the BL communities when everything wore out after 60,000 miles !

I have no idea on double timing marks, never seen that, my ‘72 MGB has only one set. Odd pulley maybe, B-series went in so many variants, started life on tractors! 3 springs on throttle is standard, one for each carb butterfly and one on the actual linkage. Manifolds seem to vary with number of ports, later models used one for servo and one for PCV, some are just blank flats without machined threads and other models have them plugged. Front suspension- bushes are easy to fit, so much easier than any on the Stag! But you will be very lucky to get the swivels apart undamaged, they usually need lots of heat and abuse and then have to replace the pin and bushes which have to be reamed in situ. My advice, see if you can pump grease in and it comes out the dust shields, then see if there is any noticeable pin movement when clamped in the vice. If no, chuck it back in with new bushes. If yes, probably easier to buy rebuilt swivels, not that expensive. Finally check the lever arm dampers thoroughly for leaks. Even rebuilt ones like to leak after standing unused for a few years- ask me how I know…

I have a 1969 B. It starts every time without fail. All the miles I drive are free. How did I do this? Converted to electric, of course. The car will easily outlast me now. (oh - it helps to rip out all the lucas electrics in the process.)

Interesting concept, there are a few companies here who convert classics to electric. Interesting but alas not my cup of tea

@@churchhouseclassics Good luck with your channel! Your advice will no doubt be useful for many a B owner. I posted some MG mechanics videos - diff thrust washers and conversion of spoke wheels to 4-bolt but twiddling with SUs? if only youtube advice was available all those years ago!
