What I found to work really really well for removing the factory undercoating is a pneumatic scraper like Harbor Freight's #95826. I only mention that one because it's cheap and comes with an assortment of blades. It peels the undercoating right off and if needed, you can follow it up with Naptha on a rag to remove any residue that is still stuck to the metal. The Naptha even leaves a pretty much intact paint surface underneath, if that is important. No torch, no burns on the skin and easier clean-up.

These old cars really benefit from some additional stiffening. I had a super nice, original paint 1977 Trans Am. Installed subframe connectors, cowl braces and a set of Viking adjustable coil overs. It made a huge difference. Instead of the K-member flexing at the cowl the suspension actually had to work.

Great videos, and I really like the vibe of the music. Not that what I call click, click music.

That needle gun is what we used to remove haze grey and red-lead from the ship's hull in the Navy. Unfortunately, it can leave dents.

Hey, try welding more piercingly instead of pulling, then the penetration will be better and your seams will be better as a result

You are gonna gain some strength by welding the centers of the cups in the core support, but it is so negligable why do it. The strength in the panel comes from the dimples not welding them to the rear panel.

Wont the new panels fill up with dirt through the Divets. Don't see no drain holes. Don't quite understand.
