Beautiful car well done, wow closing the door it sounds hallow. My old GM cars sounded like closing a bank vault. 1971 Malibu and a 1966 Impala "SS" Convertible. My 1978 Z-28 sounded the same way.

What is REALLY cool is found in how well maintained the car is and closing that door is part of your proof. One of the many reasons Chevrolet out sold Chrysler 10-1 on most comparable models could easily be pointed to while closing a door back in the day. That solid "sound" lasted a long time in a car built by "the General".......even a die hard Mopar guy, like me, will quickly admit that unless you were willing to remove a door panel and tighten things up in a Dodge that rattle and sound of a poor quality build showed up pretty early in a Chrysler Product.

Yes, the hood springs cause the hood to warp. No, no such thing as a factory prop rod to hold the hood open. The springs should be there.

If you just gotta have 'em I'd suggest a small box in the truck for their storage. Every TA and AAR I've ever seen has the tell tale damage from the springs. I'd bet that hood has seen one of 3 possibilities. It isn't original or it's been "worked to fix the damage from the original springs and maybe an owner way back in the day had the fore sight to see what was coming and that prop-rod was a solution that came along before the hood weakened, as they all seemed to eventually, and bowed.

Good car for sure. Loved the detail and attention to all the detail that potentially make the car more collectable than a more "run of the mill" 318 or 383 standard issue car sold in far larger numbers. I would point to the "reverse lock out" as a feature designed to IDIOT PROOF the car. It does little to nothing for anti theft. Most cars in this period had the feature. It was really all about making sure a driver would leave the car in gear as they walked away after parking.

I own a T/A survivor so i know a few things. This car has cuda speedo gauge. Font is short and fat on the numbers unlike the challenger. Wrong emblem on door panels. I love these cars but they aren't crazy rare. Built 2500 of them. About 55% auto and 45% stick. B5 very common color. Working reverse light not that impressive...just sayin.
