Wait... What?!?! 15-inch CHROME Magnum 500 Road Wheels? Gotta love these early/pre-production films. That was never an option! Neat to see a Charger wearing early "No-Size" Polyglas GT tires. This was definitely filmed the summer of 1969! Anybody else catch the PAINTED loop bumper on the R/T at 8:53 ? I love this stuff!

What COULD come with those magnum 500 wheels? Different years/models?
@That_AMC_Guy6 жыл бұрын
@@sixtysevendodge No Mopar could come with Chrome, 15-inch Magnums. That became a Ford-specific option as they were the only ones to offer such a wheel. GM only offered a 14-inch Magnum and Mopar too stuck with the 14-inch, painted Magnum. I can only speculate that this film pre-dates Mopar deciding to make (or offer) their own 14-inch or 15-inch "Rallye" wheels on the Charger. The only way to get a factory-offered 15-inch wheel in this era was to get the Rallye Wheel.

I bought a '69 R/T in 1981 for $50. The guy was asking $75 but I talked him down to $50 because he couldn't find the title. It was R4 red, 440, A/C, disc brakes, black vinyl top with a black R/T stripe. It didn't run for that money but was rust free, excellent condition body. I was too young to do much with it and my dad eventually sold it when I went away to college. The worst part is he sold it to the junk yard and when I went to try and buy it back a couple of years later it had been crushed. I still have a hard time talking to my dad about that.
@freesoul33715 жыл бұрын
1980's was the price low point for muscle cars. I graduated in 1979 and gas prices were shooting up with the opec crisis and people wanted more fuel efficient cars. I had a buddy with a 69 Chevelle 396 4 spd black in and out. He sold it in 1980 and got a suburu brat that had 4wd so he could drive on the beach and fish stripers. The only people that were buying muscle cars were hot rod enthusiasts and these cars were a dime a dozen if you wanted one.

This is a Dodge Charger Dealer Information film to heap dealers learn about the products they will be selling and servicing. They will be selling the Dodge Charger. It is a fairly large car which is also sporty. It particularly appealed to younger customers. The idea was to help the dealers and the motor company sell the car to the customers. The more cars they sold the more money everyone would earn. The car was popular and it was featured in the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s hit television show called “The Dukes of Hazzard.” The show was not particularly intellectually challenging but it was funny and heavily watched.
