What an awesome MOPAR! MOPARs have always had a special place in my heart, especially since my family had a 1966 Dodge Coronet 440, albeit the typical family 4 door sedan in beige. I am so glad this R/T has the MOPAR rally wheels, my absolute favorite wheels. These wheels were on my black 1973 Dodge Charger SE Brougham...excellent combination! While I totally understand that it’s a show car, the owner should drive this bad boy. Cars are meant to be driven!! Thanks Lou...what a great find!

I'd trailer it to nice big parking lots & or the drag strip. There's way way way to many horrible drivers & haters out nowadays that just don't care or hate this car because they're looking for "climate justice". I had a 73 charger se brougham also when I was in high school & man do I wish I still had her. It was originally gold with white buckets & black carpet, slap stick w/ black console. No a/c & a 400 4 bbl.

If I could travel back in time to 1970 and had to choose between the Challenger, Cuda or Coronet. For me, it would be the Coronet hands down. Of Mopars muscle offerings for 1970 the Coronet was and still is underappreciated. Absolutely gorgeous!!! Two thumbs up and...my left kidney!! :)

In September of 68 I was on my way to school and saw a new 68 Coronet that was white with nice rear lights , but later on there was also a yellow 68 Charger with black roof and interrior . Dodge had some really nice designs where most of us kids too young to drive.... did know that if we couldn't ID the car it must be a dodge . FORD and Chevrolet played it safe with minor changes ... but Dodge took the risks and i always remember the details on the dash for the luxury up scale cars.

Though, I did switch to electronic Ignition,did fouls spark plugs sometimes quickly, and to Monroe Overload shocks last couple years as : suspension wore loose too. Worked a lot on that car, as my first new one after Pharmacy School, etc.. Interestingly, I did not buy a new 1970 Challenger 4SPD/383 Magnum etc from same Dealer adjacent to Thornburg Drug Store in Syracuse , IN : Was also an AMC DEALER FOR several years...

The Charger was based on the Coronet from 66-70. The first time Dodge used the R/T emblem on a car was the 67 Coronet R/T followed by the Charger in 68. Cornets came in convertibles, 2 door, 4 door and station wagons. Starting in 71 the Charger replaced the 2 door coronet.
@rays74375 жыл бұрын
@@markg7030 Interesting. I wonder why they had 2 different models of essentially the same car. Maybe the Charger was the more "luxury" model. I have always wanted to collect the 66 - 74 model Chargers. The 68 is my favorite because of the round tail lights and also I'm a 68 model myself
