Ride along with me and my Miniature Schnauzer, Max, as we head up to a car show in April of 2022. We drive my rare 4 speed 1970 Oldsmobile Rallye 350 and listen to an 8 track tape along the way.

Yep, that's the payoff from all the hard work we put into these great old cars. Hang out with like minded people for a couple hours, enjoy some great cars and conversation.

Love it! The Oldsmobiles from this vintage are some of the greatest in automotive history. Thanks for sharing. From the beginning I’ve had two 65s, a Dynamic 88 425cid, Jetstar 88 330 cid, 77 Cutlass Supreme 350R, 78 Delta 88 350R, 85 Delta 88 307CID, 85 Royale Brougham LS 307CID, and lastly my father’s last, 94 Ciera 3.1 liter. Some day would love to get into a 67-68 442 455CID. Thanks again for this hot and beautiful Oldsy!

Thanks Joseph, I agree with you that this generation of Oldsmobiles are outstanding cars. I've had many of them and have enjoyed them immensely. The entire Olds lineup during this era had tremendous quality, performance, appearance and comfort.

Had a rallye 350 post car. Great car. Too bad oldsmobile is out of business. Best built cars ever❤❤❤

They made some great ones! Bad management at GM doomed Olds and Pontiac. I haven't bought a new GM car since they killed Pontiac.

My brothers first car was a 1971 Olds Cutlass that he ordered with a specific option set. Basically it was the base model with every performance option available selected. The result was what he got was a Hidden special option package that was featured with Oldsmobile's and Chevrolet's and probably Pontiac's. That hidden option was a higher performance engine than listed in any of the catalog's. Note in the 1970's this was triggered by selecting the performance V8 and every performance option and NOT selecting an Automatic Transmission, Air Conditioning or higher option radio. For my Brothers Cutlass it meant it was delivered with a 1970 W-31 engine. BTW, in 1977 and 1979 Camaro's it meant the cars were shipped with the L-82 Corvette engine. As for why this happened, GM wanted to give those likely to be racing their cars a bit more "off the book" horsepower.

Thanks Michael! These are such great cars. Life gets in the way sometimes and the cars come and go. I've been fortunate to always have one in my garage.

Mint ride, my buddy has a 68 Cutlass. Vol. 4 on 8-track, wonder if that's worth any money, lol. For a novel idea, they were already on their way out when I was growing up, being replaced by cassettes. Inexplicably though, records hung on for quite a bit longer.

I put a completely new interior in the Rallye 350 and I felt I needed an 8 track to finish it off. I found a brand new 1971 vintage Craig 8 track player and installed it. I'm a geezer so I had 8 tracks for years before they phased out. I found 15 8 track tapes I used to listen to in high school on Ebay. I take those in a case with me when I go to car shows. The 8 track player and the tapes get as much attention as the car. I have a large vinyl LP collection in my closet. I see vinyl is making a comeback.

Was that at 67th and Bell ( Mixteca ) Saturday? Car looks great! I am the other Rallye 350 in Phoenix but usually do Pavilions. Gary

Gary, that was at the 303 & Bell Friday evening car show. I live in Goodyear so I usually go up to the 303 & Bell show, It's the smallest of the 3 shows but it's closest to me and most convenient. I haven't been over to the Pavilions in several years. The older I get the further away it gets. Enjoy your Rallye, they're certainly special cars!

@@garyblythe1837 Thanks Gary! The Rallye is going to get some major work done to it starting in November. If you watched any of my Trans Am videos the Rallye will be going through a similar process.
