The 440 growl. I was 19 in 1970 I had 1967 SS Chevell 396/375. The GTX came out I traded the Chevell for the GTX, white, 727, AC, PS, 440 4bbl. I felt then and still feel today the 1970 MOPARS were the finest muscle ever made.

wow, 3 weeks... I will NEVER forget my bus ride to 29th and Wisconsin Ave. in Milwaukee, in April of 1979, to buy my 1st car, and my freedom, American style, at the age of 16, with my partner in crime, my buddy Brad, we took the bus after withdrawing $625.00 to pay for my 1970 Roadrunner, 383, with that killer Badass 3 foot long Pistol Grip shifter, with the rubber boot, no console, but when the owner signed over my RM23 serial #ered title, and gave me the keys, I still think about putting the key into the ignition, turning over that Chrysler "Chirrrrr chir chir chir" starter motor, hearing the 4 Barrel carb bring the big Mope to life, and then, flipping the "Air Grabber" switch, on the lower right of the dash... Brad shouted "OH HELL YEAH!!!" ,and I slipped that Pistol Grip into first gear, let out the clutch, goosed the gas, and got a chirp from the 8 3/4 3.23 diffo, and with that, we were off in that Badass Burnt Orange Runner... god what a great day!!!

Exactly what I have: 70 GTX, U-Code HP (Plain 440,High Performance) (sadly the 440 has been along gone) A lot of rust... This will be the toughest restoration of the trio. That's a definite sure.

well Tom you have a few things to learn about mopars. it is NOT a 440 six pack. Plymouth had 440 6 barrel. says it right on the air grabber. dodge had six packs, Plymouth had six barrels. beautiful car.

Beautiful! If only the new owner would remove the aftermarket wing on the rear deck. Clearly some 16 year old with no respect for the cars value added that (and the stereo). There are cleaner ways to add a stereo to a classic car.

I've been a Mopar fan since I went with my dad and grandfather in 1964 in Brooklyn to get his brand new 65 chrysler new yorker with a dual quad 413 wedge. I inherited it in 1980. I only have one old pic of it. I'm really surprised how many Mopar guys always say oh its got a 440 six pack on plymouths. I guess it's not really that major, It's my OCD OCD

Nothing worse than someone who doesn't know what he's got. 4-speed shifter's bogus & a new carb, rite! Intake manifold's wrong, should be cast, the carbs are a trio of 2-bbl Holleys. I'm not a pick apart person but those are definitely off.
