Steve, so interesting. I met my wife when I sold here a new 71 Chevy Camaro at a Chevy dealership in Milwaukee. That year Camaro has always been our favorite. A true classic, just like my wife.

I certainly agree with the posters who mentioned the great progress you have been making. We are certainly glad to see it! And on a car related note, it's also nice to see someone actually looks at the cars before they are offered for sale at this facility. While just about any old car can be "nitpicked to death" the quality of work/cars offered here is much better than some of the 'shiny paint specials' offered by some others.

With the VIN (from the HOC website), we win: 1 for Chevrolet, 24 for Camaro V8, 87 for two door coupe, 1 for 1971 model year, N for Norwood, OH assembly, and the rest is the production sequence. The Norwood, OH plant closed in August 1987. We got the tag (from the HOC website), we can brag: ST71 for 1971 model year, 12487 for Chevrolet (1) Camaro (24) coupe (87), NOR for Norwood, OH assembly, 778 for Green standard interior trim, 43 43 for Lime Green lower and upper exterior paint, 08C for the third week of August 1970 production, among other codes. I believe that's correct on RPO code "A31" power windows, as they became available in the 1973 model year for the 2nd generation cars. You were correct with your correction---the 2nd generation F body cars (Camaro and Firebird) ran from 1970 to 1981 and the 3rd generation cars started in 1982 (and ran through 1992).

My mom had a new yellow 1972 Camaro while she was pregnant with me. I used to hear all the time growing up every time we saw one, how she had to give it back because she had to quit her job because I gave her bad morning sickness and she could no longer afford the $39 a month lease payment!!! She always wanted another, but things never worked out.

I bought a 71 z28 in the early 80's from a car lot. I got it cheap because it was rough. Peeling aftermarket paint job , lot's of lower body rust. I bought it as a project car after reading an article in hot rod magazine about turbocharging. I took the 4 speed out, replaced it with a 400 with a B&M trans pack. Rebuilt the 350 with 8:1 compression pistons. Put a 3:42 12 bolt posi in it. It was a fun car, would boil those back tires! But, I must admit, I had more fun in the 69 GTS Dart I restored in 2001/2002. It was a #'s matching 340 4 speed. There's just something about a 4 speed that's a blast to drive! It would also boil the back tires with little 14 inch L60 tires 8 3/4 sure grip with 3:55 gears. That car I really miss, but it had to go due to circumstances beyond my control. Great video mags, good to see you out and about! You have a fantastic fan base, and we got your back! Keep on trucking! 👍

The tall d80 spoiler came out in April of 1970 as a COPO option so 70s can have have either spoiler. Both spoilers was avaliable at the start of 71 then the small spoiler was faded out mid year of 71

Even better it is the full bumper car with split bumpers added. You can tell because the parking lights are below the bumper. The true split bumper car has round lights inside of the headlights above the bumper

How is it that a side tank radiator was a GM exclusive? I know Ford used what they called cross flow radiators on some big block cars which had side tanks as well.

Nice to see you Steve. Why do people put those hideous huge diameter pimpmobile wheels with tiny O rings for tires on classic cars? Other than those disgusting wheels with no tires, that is a beautiful car. That is blasphemy. That car would look great with 14" or 15" Torq Thrust wheels and RWL tires with actual sidewalls. It should be a crime to desecrate a beautiful classic car like that.
