i owned a '71 Boss 351 for a couple years in the mid 70's...mine had the Close ratio 4 speed though. With the smog equipment removed and headers and a holley 850 double pumper and 4.56:1 final drive and cheater slicks she ran high 12's which was very fast for the 70's.

These 71 to 73 Mustangs are absolutely beautiful cars. I believe their collector value are extremely undervalued. I wouldn't be surprised that they begin to rise in price exponentially.

Supposedly the most powerful small block of any mfr. Nosed out the LT1 by a bit You can hear its got a bit fo duration at idle, no idea what cam specs were.

why would someone take off the original Autolite carb which you cant find anymore? I'm guessing this is one of the cheapest BOSS 351's around

I heard that the Autolite 4300D was quite finicky. I hope he saved it and the original intake manifold and they are in the trunk

Several high performance Fords of those 3 years came with a Holley. All should have!

I thought BOSS 351's had a 351 Cleveland Engine? That doesn't look like one. THBOMK, Cleveland Heads are much Wider than those. Engine appears to be a 351 Windsor

​@rogerpeed7920 Yes the Boss 351 was only came in the '71 Mustang. Also they were Cleveland engines. I think what you were seeing is the valve covers,which are the correct ones,shown on this engine.
