There never was a designer series with the Mark lll Lincoln. It is the type of clock in all Lincoln's. I grew up in the Lincoln dealership life and owned many of them.

You're Absolutely Right, I have one!!!!

Hmm, the early Mark III had no Cartier clock! And all Mark IIIs weren’t sold as Lincolns! But as Continentals. Continental Mark III

Nice car, but they didn't have designer editions in 1971.
@blasemessina3711 Жыл бұрын
This one doesn't even have the Automatic Headlight Dimmer

Just because this Continental has a Cartier clock doesn't make it a Cartier edition!!! The designer editions didn't start until the 76 Mark lV model. Most everyone in the solar system knows that!!! 😬

This was the last year of the 460 engines running 10.5:1. These were true luxury cars with muscle.

This could be turned into a beautiful classic, but it needs an extensive amount of work inside and out! But it does have potential!!!

Its a beautiful classic just like it is to normal average person yes I can see its not perfect but if I had it I wouldn't restore it I would enjoy it just the way it is.

@@rightnow1956I agree with you 100%! Some people get so anal about the slightest imperfection, they would probably have a heart attack if a bird crapped on it. They should just enjoy it!

That car has a 425HP police interceptor in it. Check for the DOVE-C heads.

Is their a way to tell the difference between the original 460 and the interceptor because it’s very fascinating to me
@j-man699 Жыл бұрын
@@deadwindows7283 They only reworked the DOVE-C heads for it. The ports are polished and the valves are bigger. The biggest tell is driving a 69 or 70 and then feeling the extra power of the 71. I'm not sure if the high back buckets are an indication but the 2 I had, had those seats. The double balancing really shows. When idling, the engine doesn't move. The sound indicates a different Cam. Warning: Many of these engines were pilfered for boats. I had a 71 with a truck engine in it, so the Carb might be another indication.

@@deadwindows7283 I replied in the side window, hours ago. I just came to the site to see if my reply made it here. It looks like it didn't. They rarely do. From 1969 to 1971 the 460 in the Mark iii was 365hp with 500lb Torque..I own 13 Mark iii's And yes there was "no" Cartier edition or designer edition on the Mark iii's..total used car salesman sales hype

@@TheLincolnRanch Did you notice the extra power in the 71?
