Yes, easy to forget it's weighs about 3400 lbs and is a street car when you see it going down the track in the 6.50's. In person it was smooth as can be. Thanks for watching!

Beautiful Mustang. Amazes me its completely in "street trim". That is truly impressive. Looks like it runs consistently. Would love to see video on the engine build, type used, etc. Would like to see him do a quarter mile run. Thanks for the great video...👍😎

Using a 1/8th to 1/4 mile calculator a 6.52 @106.0 converts to a 10.37 @130.30 mph pass.
@CoreTechTV505
@CoreTechTV505 2 жыл бұрын
Ray, That sounds pretty close to me. I would think a little higher trap speed and maybe split the difference to 10.00 flat at maybe 10.15-10.20. Those converter calculators aren't great especially when translating a heavier street car like this one. Figure in the 1/8 he has gotten all of the mass moving so from 660' to the 1320' it's really picking up. In contrast to a drag only car with slicks, they make a lot of their ET number early since they stick to the track and hole-shot hard. That gets them to and through the 60' & 330' quick while building a lot of speed. Then they ride that speed to the 660' and/or 1320'. Don't get me wrong they are still accelerating but getting some track behind them quickly while getting up to speed and then carrying that speed the whole way is what net lower ET's. A street car builds speed later in the run after getting all of that mass moving. Does that make sense? Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@CoreTechTV505I get a 10:17 with my math.
@steveschaefer
@steveschaefer Жыл бұрын
@@johnhickman106 With that MPH, lower 10's is probably closer. It's really hard to do those conversions accurately. As an example, I think street cars are faster in the 1/4 mile relative to the same 1/8 ET of a drag car. Reasoning is that so much of the ET of a drag car is towards the beginning of the run where as a street car doesn't launch as hard to start but once it gets rolling it might make more MPH later in the run. So even thought their ET may be the same, the street car might be a little faster (relatively speaking) in the 1/4 vs 1/8.
@johnhickman106
@johnhickman106 Жыл бұрын
@@steveschaefer It's all in the 60', but I agree, the equations aren't perfect. Each car is different, but the one area where they are all the same is the 60 foot translates to ET in both 1/8th and 1/4 mile times. This car looks to 60 foot really well. For the equations I use on my own car, the number is 1.56. I've used it to back up both 1/8 and 1/4 and it was within .07-.11 both with slicks and with drag radials. The real answer is of course to run it in the 1/4 if one is available and you have both times on one slip :)

Would probably go a lot faster and have a way quicker throttle response if it didn’t have big wheels on it like that. Some 14-15 inch skinny’s and drags on the rear would be perfect.

That car looks good in every single way. I can't think of a better application of white on a mustang. I haven't heard a better sounding 385 that's street tuned. I haven't seen a stance that well wound. I haven't seen a sidewall that perfectly proportioned. I haven't seen a modern set of spokes that complemented that body style. I haven't seen a better application of applique graphics. I haven't seen a better use of 9-thousands over-square US V8 engine architecture which somehow makes a 520.69 cubic inch motor perfect for this application. That size would have been the Boss 429 to the luxury 4.44 x 4.5, 557.39 cid that Ford would have used in the ultimate 1977 Continental. Had America not been responsible for keeping the Kindergartners occupied instead of butchering the planet over tribal claims in the MIddle East along with Civilizational anxieties that the rest of the world had never figured out a Mustang after beating everyone else in a world war and at least starting to tell our tribal masters to get bent with the despotism and child labor. Yes, for these sins, we were deprived a 1975 Boss 521 which is the short-stroke high-revving version of the V8 for the 1970s.

you dont need a cage ?
@CoreTechTV505
@CoreTechTV505 Жыл бұрын
The rule on roll cages is it's required for any car running faster then 6.99 in the 1/8, but there is an exception for full body cars with intact firewalls and floor boards. They are able to run down to 6.40 seconds before needing a roll cage. This mustang has a roll bar and meets the full body exception rule so would be legal to run down the 6.40 in the 1/8. nice car but who gives a rip about 1/8 mile? 1/4 mile is where its at.
@CoreTechTV505
@CoreTechTV505 Жыл бұрын
1/8 mile drag racing is more common in many areas of the country. Better said is, that where local sportsman drag racing is most popular, 1/8 mile is the predominant track length. All of the no-prep, outlaw, type drag racing runs 1/8 mile. These car run over 200 mph in the 1/8. They do sometimes run on 1/4 mile tracks but only time to the 1/8. You do realize that the fastest drag cars on the planet don't run 1/4 mile, right? 1/4 mile racing is mostly NHRA which is a tiny part of drag racing. NHRA has been dying a slow death for years. To that point, this year alone four NHRA 1/4 mile tracks, that have been open for decades, are closing, Bandimere-Denver, Atco-PA, Wild Horse-AZ, and Houston Raceway-TX. If you still live within an hour of a 1/4 mile track you are one of the luckiy ones. Better enjoy it while it lasts. With so many 1/4 mile tracks closing, the writing is on the wall.

521 that sounds stock????? My 70 Cuda has a (VS 502 stroked 440) with dual carbs. The entire car shakes while it idles, 1,500 RPM will break loose the rear tires and have the car swinging side to side . For as many times as this idiot has been bragging about his 521 he has a ton to learn. I have a Division 1 title to my credit. You can tell a lot about a build by the way the car sounds and acts while idling. LOL
@CoreTechTV505
@CoreTechTV505 2 жыл бұрын
Who are you talking to or are you trolling? Who's bragging about what? The owner of this Mustang, which I suppose is what your commenting on, hasn't made any comments himself that I'm aware off. So where is the bragging? Seems like you're the only one doing that here.
@CoreTechTV505
@CoreTechTV505 2 жыл бұрын
As far as the last sentence of your above comment, it's factually inaccurate. Have seen many cars that don't shake the car at idle, at all, that would leave that Cuda with the "stroker 440 with dual carbs" so far behind it would look like it broke. That Cuda wouldn't be to half track when they were passing through the traps. So, just saying.
