If i were asked what kind of drag racing do I like , back in the early day's or racing of today. I would pick I the early days , because I'm a old School person , back then it was more entertaining. I'll watch vintage video's of the early day's and reminese all the great times and memories.

I was there for that event. Pop took me for my 10th birthday. Great Lakes was also my first drag strip pass in my own car. Broadway Bob is missed.

I was born in 87 but some of my first memories was my dad taking me here many times, as well as all the short tracks in the area. I saw John force in 96, vintage dragsters. GLD is still the best drag strip ever, it's like a time warp going back.

Yeah, I've been going there since I was 3 or 4 in 91 and I remember it looking like this. Best drag strip ever.

I live just 6 miles from this track and cannot believe that all these legends were there!

I've lived in Kenosha all my life and have been going to the Grove since I was a kid in the late 60's all the way through today and this was actually only a small number of big names that would be at the bigger events in the 70's! Some of the races were so huge that there'd be cars parked all along county KR all the way east to I-94 a west to highway 45! Every single big name famous racer would be there...it was so awesome! NHRA needs to allow the big names to be able to match race and test and tune again so that maybe we can get some of them to stop at some of the smaller tracks around the country again! When the NHRA banned the teams from testing and running at other tracks outside of the NHRA schedule it ended all the races they did across the country which I feel was just as important as the big NHRA races for the popularity of the sport!

@@Scarecrow-skate-racing-videos what other videos do you have? im looking for another Bud video that gave 15 minutes to another event in the state of Wisconsin up north, USAC stock car race, 1969. Not sure if it was Shawno or Kaukauna but i used to have video taped off speedchannel on vhs but it got damaged. there is an entire social media group that i will personally steer to said Car and Track video if you have it.

@@MrChristopherHaas oh this isn't my video, I only have racing videos from 2020-2023 so far. I think I've seen footage of bud at Milwaukee but I haven't seen any other footage from another track in Wisconsin. That would be cool to see.
