Just picked one up identical to this in Wisconsin. 4595 miles, a true survivor.

What a beautiful little Yamaha Ken. Looks as if you climbed aboard a time machine went back to 1971 grab that Yamaha and brought it back to the present never seen a 1971 look so clean. Also enjoyed the ride around you have a very nice little town there Ken. Beautiful buildings. Take care Ken.

I have a 1969 Yamaha ct1 175 and I am trying to find a few replacement parts. I have almost all of the original parts but given how long it has been stored I may have to replace some parts. I have owned this bike since I was 19 and I am now 70 .It was red when I bpught it and I would like to get it put back together and rideable. It was one of the very best trail bikes I have owned and would like to get it going. Any help you might be able to give me in finding the right parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

One of my favorite bikes in the stable, mine is a '72 CT175, same color, not near as mint but just as much fun! One thing that's tough about owning one of these is that certain parts availability is impossible. Try finding a stock 6 volt headlight that fits, I need one to ride legally here in Wisconsin. The clutches on these bikes are on the weak side and you can't buy new plates, i had to settle for some good used ones from a 125 parts bike i had. The metal rear fender has very recently cracked in half, they are made of unobtainium! It's the hardest bike i have for parts. I wish it was like British bikes with it's well developed reproduction parts industry. I guess i just haven't found the right source yet, but im willing to pay $$$'s for the right stuff!

What’s the sodium bicarbonate solution and does it take care of rust?
@jamesmothersbaugh357 Жыл бұрын
Better to use straight vinegar from the grocery. Yes, it dissolves rust.

The colour of this was the same as the YAMAHA FS1E 50 cc.. mid 70s they loved them here in the uk. see as Honda c70s and 90s the biggest selling semi auto bike of all time world wide, four stroke very reliable also called the honda cub. I had a C70 first kick start up. check out the new Honda cubs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmGXY2uVZpp8qpo

10 grand for a dirt bike ? Last dirt bike I bought was .. $100. Your making some profit. $2500 to rebuild a CARB ? + seals ... Jesus. No thanks. Keep it. The one I had was UN-reliable. Within 2 weeks 2nd gear broke. Had it fixed. $200 in 1971 dollars for a $500 bike. 2 weeks later... 2nd gear BROKE again. 1969, a very reliable year. The thing would not stay together. Yea I can believe it will just sit somewhere.

Yeah but I don't think those came out for a couple more years. Pretty sure it was all four-stroke in 1971 for Honda. I could be wrong though so don't quote me on that.
