What a mediocre picture Doug rau turned out to be throughout his career the 72 dodgers a very mediocre team Also. Why would the dodgers Walter Austin put bill Buckner in right field with a super weak arm this is why the team was so mediocre.
@douglaslowe52 жыл бұрын
@@joejordan1259 Alston, not Austin. Also in 1972 Buckner was young and hadn't injured himself yet. Wes Parker and Steve Garvey played first.
@joejordan12592 жыл бұрын
@@douglaslowe5 In that year Buckner alternated with Parker he played right field in this game why I don't know but I guess Austin was the manager and what he says goes Garvey started playing 1st base in the 73 season Until he left in 1986 to play with the San Diego Padres As I'm sure you know.

Remember the Olympia Beer commercials that showed people practically dying in the heat? I remember one for Farmer John Bacon that Vinnie narrated. It showed a BLT being made with only two slices of bacon being laid in an X pattern. My Dad got pissed off every time he saw it. “That’s stupid! Who puts only two pieces of bacon in a BLT!!!” Made us laugh like hell every time.

Doug Rau was a solid pitcher. Close your eyes and pretend you are listening to this game live on a transistor radio with the great Vinny.

When did Vin start saying, "It's time for Dodger baseball!" ? Cool to hear Doug Rau's MLB debut.

Ted Simmons finished in the top 10 in either batting average, on base percentage or OPS 15 times. The next best Hall of Fame catcher 9, 3rd 6. Switch hitter. Marvin Miller referred to Ted as the smartest baseball player he knew.

I would love to hear me singing the national anthem for the first time at dodger Stadium August 8, 1978. The Dodgers were playing the Padres and the Dodgers won that night. Is it humanly possible to find a recording of that night? Would love a response from anybody who might know. Thank you so much!

Hello Miss Cheryl....hope all is great with you. I would love to hear your beautiful singing voice! That is so amazing that you once sang the National Anthem at Dodger Stadium for an MLB game. My Dodgers won that game 3 to 2, behind Don Sutton's complete game victory & Steve Garvey's 2 homeruns. May GOD forever bless and prosper you always Miss Cheryl....Stay beautiful!!!

Love the old games. This one, though, is apparently misdated. According to Baseball Almanac the Cardinals were playing the Mets in New York on September 9, 1972
