Depends on one's perspective. I was a Dodger fan (still am). Also sad, it was Sandy Koufax last season.

@@frankfrank7921 Game 2 was Sandy Koufax's last ever game! Can you believe the Dodgers committed 5! errors, three by Willie Davis in Center Field in the 5th Inning, behind Koufax before his leaving the game after the 6th Inning with a rare bases loaded double play - grounder to Third Baseman Jim Gilliam to Catcher John Roseboro who stepped on home plate then threw to First Baseman Wes Parker. Frustratingly, in the 6th Inning, Frank Robinson hit a line drive into center right field which Center Fielder Willie Davis and Right Fielder Ron Fairly misplayed and let drop in between them! The ball rolled almost up to the right center field wall! It was ruled a Triple. Boog Powell then Singled Robinson home and the run was charged against Koufax! which affected his excellent World Series E.R.A. That run ended Sandy Koufax's Consecutive Scoreless World Series streak at, I believe, 23 2/3 Innings. The New York Yankees Whitey Ford still holds the record at 33/1/3 World Series Consecutive Scoreless Innings. Sadly, Sandy Koufax never pitched another game. Koufax retired on November 18,1966. You know, had Don Drysdale won Game One of a double header against the Philadelphia Phillies, the last two games of the '66 season, Sandy Koufax would have been rested and pitched Game One of the 1966 World Series but it was not to be! Drysdale lost so Koufax had to pitch Game 2 of the double header which he won nailing down the '66 National League Pennant. I wish Classic Baseball On The Radio would upload all the '66 World Series Radio Broadcast games, especially Game 2!

@@frankfrank7921 I watched part of Game 2 with Sandy Koufax on the mound, when I got home from school. I was 9 years old. I must say I was sickened when Willie Davis dropped those two fly balls and then threw wildly to Third! Can you believe, NBC wiped all their Television broadcast footage! What the hell were they thinking?

Fifty-three years later it still seems like this game and Series just happened yesterday. Thanks for providing this game for us. I watched every inning on TV so I did not realize this nationally broadcast game was told on radio from the Dodgers’ perspective. Prince wasn’t shy about expressing his bias right before the sign off and Scully only spoke of the Dodgers’ records in allowing themselves to be mowed down rather than emphasizing the O’s record setting pitching and defense. Memorial Stadium’s terrible PA system sounded much better from the broadcast booth than it did from an average seat in the stands. And it was great to hear Chuck’s postgame interviews designed for Curt Gowdy and television yet also for radio.

I turned 5 years in 1962 and Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium opened in the '62 Season. I idolized Sandy Koufax, Maury Wills, Tommy Davis and a little later Wes Parker. I have been contacting the Major League Baseball Writers to have Maury Wills inducted into the Major League Baseball Hall Of Fame. Please listen to the 3rd Game of the National League Playoff between The San Francisco Giants and The Los Angeles Dodgers played at Dodgers Stadium on October 3,1962. The Dodgers and Giants were tied at the end of the season to force a 3 Game Playoff. San Francisco Giants Juan Marichal started against Los Angeles Dodgers Johnny Podres. Tommy Davis hit a dramatic 2 run Home Run in the 6th Inning and Maury Wills stole bases #102, #103 & #104. The Dodgers went into the 9th Inning winning 4-2 but lost in 9th Inning on walks! Dodgers Manager Walter Alston was harshly criticized for not bringing in Dodgers Ace Don Drysdale during the 9th Inning in relief to nail down the "62 Pennant. Alston argued that he wanted Drysdale ready for Game 1 of the 1962 World Series at Dodgers Stadium the next day! It was not to be. Note: Please listen to KZbin ~ Don Zminda Upload. Better sound. Also listen to ~ Game 2 October 2,1962 Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium in which Maury Wills slides home to win the game! Don Drysdale started for Los Angeles and Jack Sanford started for San Francisco. KZbin ~ ThisDayinBaseball Upload. Game 1 October 1,1962 Candlestick Park San Francisco, CA. Sandy Koufax started the game but hadn't pitched for a long period of time and was rusty. Koufax only pitched a couple of Innings and left the game after home runs by Willie Mays and Jim Davenport. Billy Pierce started for the San Francisco Giants. One of Vinnie's classic gaffes from c1958-Dodgers in the field. Don Demeter in center, Don Zimmer at short. The batter hits a blooper into left center. Zimmer hustles back, Demeter flying in. What happened? Vin says, "it's dropping in, no, great snag by Don!"

When are you going to upload Game 2 of the 1966 World Series? The game was played on October 6,1966 at Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium. Jim Palmer pitched against Sandy Koufax who frustratingly lost 6 - 0 due to a defensive breakdown. I personally watched a large portion of the game on television but sadly the game was, I understand, wiped!

Vin Scully and Bob Prince on NBC Radio.

Why was Bob Prince working this game? He was the voice of the Pittsburg Pirates. Why weren’t Chuck Thompson or Bill O’Donnell working with Vince Scully?
@johnrichards43223 жыл бұрын
NBC Radio hired Bob “Gunner” Prince to host the radio broadcasts of the Series and to do 1/2 of the play-by-play. When the O’s were home Scully would work with Prince and when the games were in LA Chuck Thompson would do p-b-p with Prince. Game recorded off legendary NBC Radio affiliate WGY in Schenectady, New York.

When are you going to upload Game 2 of the 1966 World Series? Sandy Koufax's World Series Consecutive Scoreless Innings streak ended at 24 when Willie Davis, who else, and Ron Fairly misplayed a deep line drive by Frank Robinson which was ruled a Triple. Boog Powell them lined a Single into shallow left field effectively ending Sandy's Scoreless Innings streak.
