Looks like a super solid survivor. Is there a leak of some sort seen the cardboard underneath? Also where do think the moisture came from in the trunk . I would suspect the bottom of the vinyl top .how does the package tray look? You don't see Catalina coupes everyday that's for sure

@@SA-bq1us Doesn't leak anything underneath. Dry as a bone. What you see is from other cars that were in its spot. Trunk moisture is from condensation under the mat. Happens to every car with a rubber-bottom mat. Package tray clean.

‘72 Pontiacs were painted with single stage lacquer. No clearcoat.

@@bill90405 Yes I know, that's why I mentioned the fact paint came off onto my buffing pads, and why I thought the sides had been clear coated at some point later.
