Im amazed you found a true Heavy Duti. I found one many years ago in an old dump where we used to go for target practice. I must have rode that bike for 10 or 12 years. when I left home the bike stayed, dont know what ever happened to it. Thanks for the nice memory.

I'm amazed too. Most of the cruisers I find around here are junk Huffys.

Very nice old Schwinn. Been looking for that very bike. I bought one in 1966 with money from my paper route. I think I paid around $68.00 for it brand new. Put baskets on the front and back and make my job much easier. They are kind of hard to find because most of them were worked to death. Still, I'm looking for another. Thanks for the nice video and a trip down memory lane.

Went many miles picking up coke bottles to buy coke and candy! Back when coke and candy was just that! I loved my big RollFast bike I was so young that reach pedals with my toes on down stroke!

You got a good deal. I have 2 of these bikes. They are both red. My first one was a Christmas present one year and the other one I bought about 5 years ago for a lot more money. Both of mine are missing the rear fender reflector. The seat is original, both of my bikes have that type of seat on them. You can buy S-7 tires on ebay. Some tires have the "tractor" tread on them.

It’s especially hard to find them with the paper boy rack. That rack is awesome. They need to build them again for a grocery bike. Not everyone wants nor can efford an E-bike.

I am 6' 1" tall and is the Heavy Duti bike considered too small for my height ? Do the Heavy Duti and Typhoon use the same frame ?
@Possumliving Жыл бұрын
I believe it does use the same frame. It would be usable but maybe a bit small.

no way its a 26 inch

Nice! I had a men's 26 inch J.C. Higgins bike until about 15 years ago. I got it about 1958. What is the cost difference in making your own motorized bike and buying one online?
@Possumliving3 жыл бұрын
You can build your own for probably a third of what a prebuilt one costs. It does take a bit of tinkering to get it working right, though.

@@Possumliving Thanks, I felt sure you would know. I have been checking the air gun hunting laws in Alabama. If you have the right gear, there are a lot of options.

please put a motor on that bike!
@Possumliving3 жыл бұрын
I probably won't motorize this one because I have another cruiser that I motorized. It is about time I made another video of that one, though. Never know, though. I might put a hubmotor on this one.
@mattparker97263 жыл бұрын
@@Possumliving fair enough. dunno why everybody's going electric, I like 2 strokes. No recharging needed.
@Possumliving3 жыл бұрын
@@mattparker9726 Yeah, I like two strokes too. Even the cheap Chinese ones are fun to tinker with. But I've been thinking about getting a Denardis 2 stroke, which is an American clone of the Italian Morini that 50cc KTMs, Aprilias and a few others used. Great little engines, and not much more money than one of the popular 4 stroke kits. If I build a 4 stroke bike I'll probably use a flathead Briggs.
@mattparker97263 жыл бұрын
@@Possumliving well I was thinking of the cheap Chinese 2 stroke kits, because A: they're cheap, and B: they come in chrome. With those nice chrome wheel guards, it would look awesome. especially contrasted with that bright yellow.
